Hi all, sorry for a second post in quick succession I have removed the fuel plate/filter/pump/sender assembly from the tank as the bike is 29 yrs old so thought I would replace the internal fuel lines as I know these go brittle in time. Come to replace the assembly, and the fuel pump seems to have packed in along with the float sender. My new K1600B when cold, below 40 degrees F during first start of the day, the engine spits and sputters for 5-10 seconds and if it doesn't die, it will start and run normal after words. Experienced rider & life long wrench here. Went to change oil the first time on this bike & took the three screws out of the cover where the oil filter is. Oil leaked out with filter still in place. Is this normal? Put new filter in & left cover off. Went to fill engine case with oil and it just runs out where the oil filter is. Is this how this is supposed to work or what broken?
