Here is something new (for me). Engine fully warmed up and engine temperature readout swinging between 76 and 82 C. Exactly 15 seconds gradually up/down like a clockwork, especially at lower speeds. At higher speeds +100km/h it seems to stabilize at 79 or 80 C, which is what I normally used to see.

I’ve had my R1250R for almost five years now, and it’s pretty much perfect for me. If I were to change I’d probably want to go for the same bike but with the new 1300 engine that’s in the GS.
So when do we think BMW will be bringing out the R1300R?

Since coming across the official BMW advisory regarding the cardan shaft (test/maintenance and free replacement upon failure for LC models), I've been very concerned about this issue. My bike is the 2014 Dark White K27 oil/air cooled and currently at 109,000km-trouble free except for a failed starter few years back. Due to earlier reports of cardan shaft failures (incl K27) even before the official BMW advisory, I've been conscientiously servicing the cardan shaft every 30K km -lubing...

Greetings from Southeast Pennsylvania. I purchased a new to me 2016 r12r with the gold fork package (I'm told this has a good set of extras?). I have previously been on a 1998 Suzuki gs500 (naked twin); a 2003 Suzuki drz400s; and a 2004 Suzuki V-Strom (v-twin) that I'm still in love with, haha. So why the sudden departure from 20+ year old Suzukis? Well I have always wanted a BMW and ideally wanted the GS. However, I saw the r12r and it caught my eye... so I set up a test ride. The low...

Greetings everyone! I had been an active poster here until about 5 years ago when I traded in my 2012 Classic for a 2016 GS. I have enjoyed the GS very much (took it from TX to Alaska last year) but I am tempted to trade it in for an R, mainly because my son started riding and he is on a KTM Duke, so an R would be a good fit to ride together (and yes, he really wants to ride it ).
What I always see as the downside of the R is the depreciation, I came across a nice 2020 with 4k miles for...

I finally bit the bullet and installed the Auxito H7 LED bulbs with fan.
The headlight is way brighter and it has the same brightness as my Clearwater auxiliary lights.
So far no canbus issues on low or high beam, but I do also have the Clearwaters on all the time.
If I get any faults, I will post.

This is my first brand new bike. Since I bought it I only have 800 miles on it and it has gone through its 600 mile breakin service. Since day one, a cold start, (even when not cold temp wise) in my garage, the engine starts and immediately the rpms drop to idleish numbers and stalls. It takes min 3 tries to get it to start and idle correctly. Its embarrassing to say the least. The dealership was supplied videos etc. They are saying the bike just needs more miles on it. I call BS on...
