Folks, quick question, does the fuel pump stay running at all times when the engine is running? I presume that it does, but need to check. The 1984 K100RS I’m trying to get running again after a fire had the little harness melted when a fuel hose split and sprayed fuel onto the head. I’ve replaced all the fuel hoses and injector harness, injectors etc, but I couldn’t save or replace the short 4 wire harness from the main harness to the fuel tank. I’ve cut off the melted ..read more

How’s it going everyone!  Brand new to just about everything there is to do with motorcycles and any kind of fabrication work. Picked up a 86’ K100RS for a price I couldn’t possible pass up. Guy had it ripped down and was planning to make it a scrambler so the bike wasn’t dissembled by me the first time.  Looking to gain some new skills while rebuilding and restoring this thing into a cafe style bike.   Thanks for having me everyone!  ..read more

On my way across the Bay to visit my friend Greg at his shop riding my Silver '90 K75. While on the San Mateo Bridge I noticed that the turn signals weren't working properly. The right signal wouldn't turn on and the left would only blink once. And the emergency/trouble light switch when turned on would work with both sides blinking. But when it was turned off the left side would continue to blink. Got to the shop and re-tried the turn signals but neither would work. But when I turned  the power ..read more

28/09/17 -       Brought in a Brake Bleeder Kit, a Fluid Pump and an Engine Oil Drainage Pan -       Took more pictures of the original bike. -       Began stripping, was able to strip all the fairings off along with a few other parts. 5/10/17 -     Today I was wanted to remove the airbox so that I could fit new air pods. However to remove the air box I had to first remove the tank which I found to still have fuel left in it which luckily I was able to not cause any spills. A ..read more

Hi all Tail light quit working. If I put 12 volts to the wire shown just after the battery the tail light works. Now in the second picture I assume this is the plug for the tail lights? If I put 12volts to the wire going in and coming out of this plug I get nothing. Is this the right plug? Thoughts welcome ..read more

LED Headlight Tips

So my bike has been converted to a round headlight, but the wrong lens has been used. From what I can see it seems the correct lens would be more expensive than just replacing the light with an LED. Even a non-Ebay, ADR compliant, locally sourced LED. Something like https://www.stedi.com.au/stedi-7-inch-carbon-charcoal-led-headlight.html  My electrical skills are rudimentary at best, what do I need to know? Will I need a Canbus cancellation module to avoid warning lights or is my 01/85 K100RS ..read more

I knew...

Yes, I knew I should not let the bike on its side stand in a light slope without a gear engaged... Why the hell did I do it anyway? I just could watch the bike slowly passing upon the stand and falling on the low wall edge. The external fairing shows a light scar: But inside, it exploded the glove box... And the upper slot to the fairing support is broken also. Curiously, no other damage was made to the side panel, the mirror or the fairing comfort spoiler. Not even the indicator ..read more
