Pencil tip on a soldering iron or just hold the correct size nail with a vice grips and make it hot then poke the hole through the plastic. Statistics: Posted by Jim D 5112 — Thu May 02, 2024 9:40 pm ..read more

You have a point, but the whole engine is steel and aluminum in interference fit. I could use mild steel, and press it into place. I'm hoping someone has been in the same situation and has a great solution to relate... Statistics: Posted by DIS295 — Thu May 02, 2024 7:49 pm ..read more

A nice interference fit works since aluminum always expands faster than steel with increased temps. I get the impression that the plug is there to control and direct the "slung" oil into the feed holes of the crankpin. Very little stress on the part. I'd hate to reinvent the wheel here, especially if others have already, or have a source for said item, or think it's not necessary.. I have a new crankshaft that was not supplied with the plugs for the crankpins. I assume these are required, but since they don't seem to readily available, I'm thinking, should I replicate in aluminum, though I have none to work from. Thoughts?
