Hi all,
After years away, I'm pleased to be returning to the Toyota Hybrid scene. We secured a 2011 Prius Alpha S-Touring in red at auction in Japan on Friday. 108,000km on the clock and grade 4B, with Bilstein suspension added. Just the 3 months or so to wait for it to arrive now ..read more

Have Toyota ditched park assist on the UK Gen5? what else has gone? HUD?
I love my Gen 4 Business but would like to change. Looking at UK spec Gen5 some details do not make sense. Having had four Toyota Hybrids you couldn`t give me 19 " wheels but I do like heated seats and electric seat operation. Never used Park Assist, or ever had it demonstrated but at my age it may be useful. Would like to be able to turn off the auto headlights in the summer.
For the top spec. no colour option except blue below £40K supercar tax threshold is a stupid UK marketing mista ..read more

My 2009 gen 3 Prius is having problems with the hybrid system. It’s definitely not working and a mechanic friend of my sister, who admits he’s not an expert on hybrids seems to think the hybrid Battery needs replacing. A new Battery for a 2009, 120,000 mile Prius probably isn’t worth it, but a rebuilt one might be. I’m trying to book it into a Toyota dealer to check that the Battery is the problem but they seem a bit busy. I spend some time out of the country and I’m having trouble getting it checked before I leave again. The battery may well need replacing, but there are a few things that mak ..read more

Still waiting to see the new Prius, will it ever arrive in UK?
My 2016 needed a new wiper blade, luckily I carry a set of spares as the Gulls here have a liking for them. Tried to order a set of front. 28" fine but 16" unavaible from Toyota Direct. The 16" Opti Flat for the C-HR looks identical but toyota say it is not compatible. Anybody tried the Bosch Aero? Over £40 for a set of geniuine Toyota Wiper Blades (that can result in an MOT failure ) is bad enough but not available after only 7 years is does not inspire confidence.
This is my fourth Toyota Hybrid and I love ..read more

Does Toyota have a generic Battery drain flaw?
I have a RAV-4 plugin hybrid and a Prius hybrid. On separate occasions (months apart) I've gone to use the cars in the morning only to be confronted with completely flat batteries. Toyota roadside service got both cars going but there was no apparent reason for the batteries to drain flat. I attached my Battery charger to the Prius and the indicator lights showed normal charge. When I checked after an hour the charger was dead. The mains fuse had blown but the serge also blow the internal circuits. I don't believe in coincidences ..read more

I only picked up my new (to me) gen 4 last week and I’m beginning to learn every single setting there is, and there’s a lot
What I can’t figure out is how to reset the Average MPG, it’s the one on the main dash below the MPH
I can reset the trip etc by using the trip button on the steering wheel but can’t figure out resetting the Average
Average is currently 66.4 mpg
Thanks for any guidance  ..read more

Hi everyone
Yesterday doing airport run, while joining dual carriegway on a rough surface, my car displayed this message. I was able to return home - around 10 miles with speeds of 30-40 mph. After scanning with cheap OBD scanner, I found those codes: POA94, P324, C1259 and C1310. It looks like an inverter issue. Has anyone experienced that problem? I had HHC done a month ago, but don`t think warranty will cover it. Do you know how much dealership may charge for it? Car is 122 000 miles
Thanks ..read more
