2012 Prius V has been diagnosed with a blown head gasket with 185,000 miles. I have been told not to replace the gasket if it needs a new head. I have researched this. A new gasket is about $38, a replacement head is $1,100, labor is $1,800. A used JDM engine with 60,000 miles is $1,100,, labor is $2,500. Anybody else been in this situation. Some more info: The three pictures were occurring within seconds of each other. The Prius flashed each one sequentially after about a second. Before and after that the dashboard had a notification that said the brake wasn't on and it needed to be in parking. The notifications are: Brake Override Malfunction, Drive-Start Control Malfunction, "shift system not active apply parking brake securely while parking see owner's manual."
