I have a 2004 1.8S Sentra with a 5 speed. This is the only manual transmission I've ever driven. I've had it about a year. I haven't really figured out an ideal shift point for most situations. It seems like when I'm up shifting I get best results when it's at least at 2,500 RPM. Maybe more like 3,000 - 3,500. I especially tend to want to rev it a bit higher in lower gears. hey guys I got a 2005 Sentra, everything was working right in till 2 weeks ago. I had a flat tire and I used an air pump that connects to the cigarette lighter it worked about 3 seconds nd it quit. I thought it was a faulty pump. After that my cigarette lighter stopped working checked the fuse it was good. So it's a 2004 base model 1.8 Sentra. Saved it from the junkyard, put a new fuel pump (had 2psi), plugs, plug tube seals, coil boots etc. Barely moved down the road. Fixing it up for my kid. It runs pretty well till about 5k in second gear and will bog a bit then keep going ok but the acceleration above 60 is really slow, now sure how slow it should be, but it's bad.
