Hello,
I didn't want to revive an old thread but it's a follow up to this thread: 12v accessory ports - always on? - Electric Vehicle ForumsHello,
I have a Ford Escape 2008. Currently the 12v outlet is always on and I fear leaving dashboard cam plugged all time could discharge the battery. I've seen mods online that use two fuse taps similar to this setup where the 12v outlet is connected to a another fuse location that's only powered on ignition.
Also this setup from that thread
But it's not clear which fuses should I plug to the fuse tap and in which position should each end be.

Hi folks, new to posting here but a long time lurker. I have a 2006 FEH 300K plus miles which I believe has the original battery. Recently I've been getting a service soon wrench light and Forscan says the battery mode goes into LOS and I have a loss of power esp at low speeds with an obvious increase in gas consumption. About a month ago I was getting an intermittent code for the blend door actuator. I haven't seen the code recently but I replaced the actuator anyway just to see if it fixes the LOS issue. I had also gotten codes for the battery fans around that time. I already replaced the fa ..read more

Went out to start my usually reliable 2009 FEH the other day and when I turned the key on the only light that came on was the airbag light??? Usually the entire instrument cluster would light up. Got out my trusty Bosch OBD II reader and found P0A1F code. I was not too sure what to do about that so I got FORScan on my pc and went to work on that ...........Now I am pretty confused and need some help. Please see attached FORScan printout. HELP!!!!!!!!,
FORScan:

Status (-2A):
- DTC Present at Time of Request

I just rebuilt my '09 FEH HVTB with all new cells from MaxPower. I now have 50 OEM sticks that I'd like to sell on eBay to recover part of the expense, if possible. Obviously, I only want to sell known good sticks.
What is the most cost effective way to properly test and charge these sticks? Equipment? Recommended procedure? Thank you ..read more

I am not advocating anyone do this, I just found it to be interesting. In a series of videos this YouTuber converted his 2008 HVTB to Li-Ion batteries.

Spied this tube disconnected on one end and dangling — any ideas what this tube is? Thanks! Would like to replace and reconnect to where it’s supposed to go. No apparent ill effects except maybe my mileage is a little bit worse than usual ..read more

I lost power steering in my 2009 FEH some 10 days ago. I was aware of the steering torque sensor issue, so I replaced it. But no luck, still no power steering.
I then scanned the car with a Vlinker obd reader. There was a code U2023, suggesting network communication error. I did not have the B2278 code for the torque sensor.
Now I have 2 questions: 1/ Is the code related to the loss of power steering? The car does not have any other issues, so I think they are most probably related. 2/ What could be a possible cause trigger code? A loose wire connector or a bent pin so that the the EPAS and ..read more

I'll be heading back home for college break for about a month and plan to leave my 2010 FEH at university. I'm worried about discharge of the HV battery while I'm gone, as to my knowledge NiMH batteries generally discharge pretty quickly. The battery is in good health, although obviously not brand new; I'm not sure what the exact capacity is, but I would estimate it at about 50% of design at least (likely more).
Is one month long enough for self-discharge to deplete the battery? I have ForSCAN, so I can always run a balance to charge it up past 50%. I'm also open to building a jump starter, as ..read more
