When we bought our Yaris in 2021 it came with front and rear Nextbase  380GWX cameras.  They work fine. When we recently bought our Rav4, it already had the same dashcams fitted, either by the previous owner, or by the dealer when he bought it. Help! I have experienced problems associated with cracked reluctor rings, cracking and solid brake pedal when moving slowly on a tight lock. I have spoken to numerous "experts" who suggested it must be a damaged reluctor ring. Had front rings changed no difference. Took car back to garage so they could check rear. No faults found but both front and rear needed a lot of cleaning. £360 later still have same issue. No ABS warning light. Any suggestions what to do next. Generally very pleased with my new 2024 RAV4 plugin hybrid, but I have to say Toyota have missed a trick with the new driver display screen. When selecting display info options, there are too many blanks with no detail to select. Why, when Toyota had a blank sheet of paper at the design stage could they not have, say, a Sat Nav screen presentation in the centre between the 2 circular info screens? To me it indicates a lack of effort into what could have been a very good improvement over the previous analogue screen.   Bro in law has a catastrophe in progress. The serpentine belt snapped and took out the crank position sensor plug. The wires are all there unbroken but as usual, it cannot be sensible and match colour for colour it has to be six different coloured wires that need connecting together.   On the one side I have red, grey and greyer, on the other side I have brown, black and white. Good news - the 2024 v1 Map Update is now available and can be downloaded and installed OTA. Less good news, our favourite numpties at Toyota have messed up the structuring of the update files for installation via USB. Specifically, they have placed all the update files in the root directory whereas the car expects to see a folder named FMU within the root directory and the update files in there. Very simple to 'fix' once you realise - create the FMU folder for yourself and move the update files down into that.
