Good day all. I have lost track of the architectural history and evolution of the 3.5, the 2.7, and finally the current 3.0 V-6 Ecoboost units we find in the current Explorer ST.   So, is the current 3.0 a de(bored/stroked) version of the 3.5? Or, is the 3.0 an enlarged 2.7? If I recall, there were some significant differences between the 2.7 & 3.5 when the 2.7 was first introduced. I am trying to see if there are any other hybrid Explorer owners out there and what your user experience has been. I have been so thoroughly underwhelmed by my purchase last year. Someone please tell me I’m not crazy here! I’ve got a 2017 Ford Explorer Limited and within the past month, I noticed that my exterior lights were no longer working according to which setting I had the control knob on. I will explain in as much detail as possible below. Before I go into that though, I wanted to mention that I took my vehicle to a local Ford dealership, and they told me there was no issue and that the lights were working as intended. It's almost a joke, but unfortunately as soon as my 2016 Ford Explorer Sport, 3.5L EcoBoost hit 100K miles (odometer = 104296.9), it "fell apart". First the seal of the PCU (trasnfer case) dried out and ate itself. At the same time that was being replaced, one turbo was bad. Within 2 weeks of getting it back from the shop the second turbo went out. Within 1 month of that the engine went. I don't have an answer what happened to the engine, but I thought the turbo went out again, it sounded like a penny in the dryer. I immediately drove it to the Ford dealer. I have an 2021 Explorer. XLT 4WD with 33,000 miles. It has been a nice vehicle with no issues until now! When I drive in the 4 wheel slippery mode, I have noticed a kind of droning sound that starts at 62 mph and goes away at around 66 mph! The noise almost sounds like something is cycling on and off. I took my 2022 Explorer King Ranch today to the local Ford Store for the rear heat/ac controls.  Ford delivered the car without it last July w/o them.  Ford promised to put install them when the parts came in.  I got an email in December saying that the parts were in, and I could have a Ford tech come to the house to put them in.  I call the dealer and tried to make a appointment to bring the car in.  He said that Ford made a mistake and that they had no parts for the controls.  Later, I recieved an email from Ford saying "ooops, we bad.  Sorry.  We ..read more
