I have a 2016 Explorer XLT, 78k miles roughly. driver door lock appears to need a new actuator. I can lock all of the other doors from the driver side switches. sometimes the lock will act like it wants to move but doesn't complete the process. I have to open that door with the inside handle for it to unlock. I removed the door panel, and the rod moves freely. when i lock/unlock the doors with the key fob I do not hear the actuator work 9 out of 10 times. So, I may try and tackle the replacement myself. doesn't appear to be overly difficult just frustrating. anyone else have any experience r ..read more

Scan shows right and left wheel sensor faults. I live on a gravel road and in the winter the mud cakes under the car toward the rear. This happened last year and after cleaning in the spring, the code went away. This year I pressure washed the undercarriage and checked the sensors, which were caked in mud. Cleaned them up and no change. I looked closer at the reluctor rings and they appear to have been ground smooth, in comparison to the fronts which have raised segemnts. I think this is the problem, but not sure. Should I first replace the sensors? During some brief research it appears the r ..read more

Hi All. This is my first post. Once prices come back down to earth, looking to trade my 11' AWD Edge Limited for a 18' or 19' Explorer (Limited, AWD or 4WD) - Ive heard these are the best years of newer Explorers. Is that true? - Are any of the engines better or worse for these years? Ive heard horror stories, but who knows. - The water pumps... Ive heard horror stories. Are the stories true? Any advice? Thanks in advance for any and all advice! I talked to a very friendly gentleman in my area this morning who pointed me to this forum and restored my faith as all the negatives Ive heard have ..read more

Hello everyone I normally post in the obs diesel section but am currently trying to get the front washer to work in our 2015 explorer. So far I have replaced the pump, control stock on the column, checked the fuses, and have a new wiper motor assembly plugged in. I am able to swap the lines at the pump and the rear wash command sends washer fluid to the windshield. The line is not blocked. The motor does not run when the front wash function is selected. I will pull the inner fender and check the pump with 12v to verify rotation in each direction next. Update: the pump operates in both dir ..read more

Hey everyone, I have a 2016 Explorer XLT 4wd model with the standard v6 engine. I am hearing a pop in the front end. it occurs when backing out oft he driveway and turning. and occasionally when starting to drive forward. Explorer has less then 75k miles. I have an appointment with Ford however its still over a month away due to how busy they are. I have looked under the rig with my wife turning the steering wheel and the pop is not consistent and is hard to pin point. Anyone else run into anything similar? are there any known issues like this? thanks for your time ..read more
