We have a 2012 Rav4 with only 60,000 mi / 97,,000 km. It has never missed a regular service and as far as I know the engine is good. The body is good. We need the following
repairs completed:
Replace both Front Lower Control arms (CAD $1635)
Replace both rear axle shaft seals ar rear differential carrier. (CAD $1432) + 270 to refil the fluid
If the Rav4 lasts a few more years then this is probably worth it and is certainly better than getting a new vehicle.
Any suggestions as how to make...

Hi,
I'm helping a friend with her 2009 Rav 4 with the 3.5L engine. Currently the engine starts and sounds great but about 5 seconds later it shuts down. Fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are brand new. Garage told her it's almost definitely the immobilizer box under the dash. And The Car Care Nut on youtube was talking about how a failing immobilzer acts, he said it will start and then shut down after it doesn't send the proper signal. So the garage does seem to have the right idea. So...

No problems with 20212 RAV4 Limited prior to changing plugs (same DENSO OEM Iridium plugs) at 120,000 miles. After changed plugs, got PO390 code (camshaft position sensor B Bank 2). 4WD and TRAC light also went on, all pointing to camshaft sensor. I did not change manifold gaskets when changed plugs, as they looked fine. Put in new camshaft sensor, still have error codes PO019,PO0025,PO340, PO393,, PO390. All pointing to camshaft sensor. Engine sometimes takes3-4 times to stary, but...

I had to fill my AC system last summer Florida season and the mechanic put in a dye to see where the actual leak is when next I came in. It must be time to go in because I am getting in the first 10 minutes of startup with AC on: warm Air from Driver's Vents and Cold Air from Passenger's Vents.
Here is my question: How is the RAV 4 AC system set up to give warm air and cold air from these different vents until the system can send out cold air through both systems. Can I set something on...

I had codes for both cam sensors and crank sensor. Replaced them with OEM parts and I still have code PO368. Tested the grounds and the circuits to the PCM tested ok. Starts hard when it runs it runs great but check engine light still on with code PO368. I can drive it all day long as long as I don't shut it off, but if I do I have to wait for about an hour before it will start again. I'm an old school mechanic I do have some experience with computer cars (have a good scan tool) ,but this...
