My son lost the 2nd key fob for his 2011 Q5 Premium.
Based on forum searches, it would appear that the only way to replace it is the dealer only, as forum members have indicated that neither used nor eBay-sourced keys can be programmed successfully.
I called the dealer in his area (raleigh NC) and was quoted $750 just for the replacement key fob, with another $120 to reprogram.
Is he stuck with paying the dealer $900 for a second key?
I may end up calling multiple dealers to see if there is a source for something less than an extortionate price for the fob alone, and have the local dealer ..read more

Me again,
I’m getting set to install the 034 179mm pulley and wanted to check one thing.
The instructions on 034 state that the new crank pulley bolts are M8 - but my M8 sized socket is definitely too big and the M6 is too small when fitting it “into” the head of the 034 supplied bolts.
My T40 Torx bit fits like a champ when testing it out but the last thing I want to do is risk stripping these bad boys when I go to torque them down to spec.
Can anyone confirm what size head bolt the 034 crank pulley bolts should use?

Hi guys any suggestions would be appreciated. Posting here since this is a VAG engine hoping someone has come across a similar issue before.
A little background first.
I have a 2013 Audi Q5 with the 3.0 tdi CDUD engine. I had the notorious oil cooler failure. A bit technical but well within my ability to replace and repair. I just didn't have the time to do it and dreaded the zillion times of manual flushing the contaminated cooling system in getting everything clean. Had it done at a very well known independent RMI shop in PE. Upon receiving it and driving away from the shop that Friday aft ..read more

I tried posting this in the Q3 section but that seems pretty much dead. I am wondering What year q5/sq5 brakes will directly bolt up to my 2023 Q3? What rotors will be required for this to work?

I’m having a difficult time with my 2022’s kit going on. I can’t get the top hat to sit bc I can’t get spring to compress much . The helper spring isn’t allowing the top hate to go on. I’m using a compressor tool from autozone . Should I try a different compressor??? Any advice is welcome as the car is torn apart right now ..read more

2009 Q5 3.2L
Was out of town and did not drive my car for 6 days, got back from my trip and went to start up car. EPC, ESP, CEL lights all on. Hooked up a generic OBD2 scanner, got these codes:
P0068 - MAP/MAF Throttle Position Correlation
P2138 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D"/"E" Voltage Correlation
P0606 - ECM/PCM Processor
Also an ABS code pointing to J540 parking brake module? Assuming this is a separate issue.
Cleared all codes, then re-started car and now only have P2138.
Some interesting findings:
Sometimes, pressing down on the brake pedal causes motor to bog down (whil ..read more

So my 2016 3.0 with 48k miles has a strange noise. It?s been there a while now. The dealer told me it?s normal, and it?s just that these engines are noisy. That was about 20k miles ago. It?s not the chain rattle I?ve read a lot about. It?s not normal sewing machine sound of the engine either. It honestly sounds like an exhaust leak. I hear it in the drive thru, the drive up ATM, or any time the drivers side is near a wall or enclosed space, when the window is down. Sitting in the passenger seat, nothing on that side. Hood open, in park, can?t hear it, even while bringing up the RPMs. I only he ..read more
