Could Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler reunite back on the Philadelphia 76ers after being Eastern Conference rivals for all of these years? Don’t count on it. While Jimmy Butler has been painted as the perfect potential third star candidate for the 76ers entering their summer of plenty cap space, the Miami Heat currently do not have any plans to trade away the outspoken All-Star. This week, Heat executive Pat Riley fielded questions about the state of the Eastern Conference’s eighth-seeded team and claimed that Butler would not be a trade candidate this offseason. “Who moves the needle the most on ..read more

After years of trade rumors linking Buddy Hield to the Philadelphia 76ers, the veteran sharpshooter finally landed in a Sixers uniform at the 2024 trade deadline. The Indiana Pacers couldn’t agree to an extension with Hield before the 2023-2024 regular season tipped off. When the deadline approached, the Sixers made their biggest splash in the market by picking up Hield. At the time, Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey believed they landed the best player traded. “We’re focused on upgrading this year, and we feel like we got the best player at the trade deadline that was trad ..read more

Less than a week from their postseason exit, the Philadelphia 76ers have been connected to a handful of names in free agency in the trade market. Some of the more common players mentioned are LA Clippers forward Paul George and Jimmy Butler. However, one insider recently threw another name in the mix. On a recent episode of “The Lowe Post,” ESPN’s Zach Lowe reflected on the Phoenix Suns’ options moving forward. They used almost all their assets to acquire Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, and it didn’t pay the dividends they might have hoped. The Suns were swept by Anthony Edwards and the Minneso ..read more

When Miami Heat President of Basketball Operations Pat Riley saw his star player making a bold statement about the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics, he questioned whether it was a troll job or not. Former Philadelphia 76ers standout Jimmy Butler didn’t get an opportunity to compete for the Heat during the 2024 NBA Playoffs. After suffering an ankle injury against the Sixers during the Play-In Tournament, Butler was forced to miss the first round. As the eighth seed, the Heat didn’t come close to putting together a run that mirrored last year’s. After going to the NBA Finals as the Easter ..read more

At the 2024 trade deadline, the Philadelphia 76ers were confident they landed the best player traded in the NBA when they snagged Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers. With the Sixers getting knocked out of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Hield is officially set to hit free agency as his contract from the Pacers expires. The 76ers knew well that Hield could be a one-year rental, but they made the trade with intentions of keeping him on board for years to come. After getting a 32-game run in Philly, along with the first playoff run of his career, where is Hield’s head at in terms of free agency? “I’m her ..read more

In what became their first big move of the 2023-2024 NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers sent three players packing to the Los Angeles Clippers. The headliner was James Harden, which didn’t come as a surprise. The fillers were PJ Tucker and Filip Petrusev, with the latter quickly finding himself flipped to the Sacramento Kings. Tucker didn’t anticipate getting moved out West. Entering his second full season with the Sixers, Tucker looked forward to playing under first-year head coach Nick Nurse. Instead, he went from a starting role in Philly to a reserve role on the Clippers. It wouldn’t be lo ..read more

Midway through the 2023-2024 NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers picked up one of the most notable players in the buyout market by signing Kyle Lowry. The Philly native’s homecoming was full of reunions. Not only did he make it back to play for his hometown team, but Lowry reunited with some old friends, joining Daryl Morey and Nick Nurse. As much as those two were in influence in his decision to join the Sixers, so was the star duo of Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. “I came here to be able to be a part of the growth of Tyrese and the growth of Joel,” Lowry told reporters last week. “Try to help ..read more

The Philadelphia 76ers left the 2024 NBA Playoffs much earlier than expected. After going toe-to-toe with the New York Knicks for six games, the Sixers found their postseason run cut short as the second-seeded Knicks defeated Philly twice at the Wells Fargo Center. The Sixers landed some credit for putting up a fight in a tight first-round battle, but they ultimately came up way short of their goal of making a title run. “I mean, it sucks to lose, the goal is to win a championship,” said Sixers center Joel Embiid. “Anytime that doesn’t happen, that’s all I care about. How Sixers’ Loss vs. Knicks Impacts Paul Reed’s Contract

Last summer, the Philadelphia 76ers nearly lost Joel Embiid’s backup to the Utah Jazz. Paul Reed, Philly’s former second-round pick out of DePaul, entered the free agency market as a restricted candidate. Coming off of an impressive playoff run, Reed’s stock jumped up just before he started negotiating deals with other teams. The Jazz made Reed a generous offer, which put the Sixers on the clock to match. Utah offered Reed a three-year deal worth $23.5 million. While it wasn’t fully guaranteed, there were certain factors in the deal that would’ve helped Reed earn a guarantee salary, based on h ..read more

Philly Radio Host Has Heated Rant About Sixers’ Loss to Knicks

For the first time since 2020, the Philadelphia 76ers are not going to be playing in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. In a six-game series against the New York Knicks, the Sixers fell short with a 2-4 record. As close as the series was, the 76ers did not find themselves on the right side of the competition when it was all said and done. Unlike previous postseasons, the Sixers haven’t been criticized nearly as much. Even though they fell short earlier than usual, the circumstances seem to have earned them a pass from the masses this time around. But one local radio host isn’t having any of ..read more
