Hi all- It's been so long since I've been here that I had to make a new account. So with that in mind, please have mercy on me for asking potential noob questions. It seems that there has been quite a bit more exploring done with our cars, and I was wondering just how much the Mk3 Focus shares with its bigger brothers. Does anyone know of a good resource to find parts shared by all the Focus models, or where I can get better acquainted with our cars? Thanks guys! Sent from my SM-G950U... Hi folks, as a new owner of a 2012 Focus Sport, what are the best parts from an ST that - if they fit - could be brought across? Things that I'm already suspecting will work are: Front seats Springs Swaybar(s) I suspect there is also a decent aftermarket - focused (hah!) - for the ST. Curious where to go or who the specialists are. Note that this car has the 2.0 Duratec and the 6 speed DCT. It's a zippy little car, but could definitely use better front seats and... 2012 Focus LW MkII Sport lego-mode Focus ST bits ..read more

Coolant Leak

First off, I'm not terribly mechanically inclined - I'm a computer guy. However, I've been tinkering with my 2012 Focus SE 2.0 DCT. Spliced in a performance chip, installed cold air intake, upgraded throttle body, muffler delete, muffler install (I'm too old to be that obnoxious). Now I have a coolant leak. (I put a gallon in and it was gone after 7 miles.) I've seen that the best place to start is the reservoir, but I couldn't find any cracks in it. I didn't think that was it anyway... I have a 2005 Ford Focus ZX3 with a manual transmission. I just rebuilt the engine and had P2004 showing up(imrc valve stuck open). I put a new intake manifold on with a new actuator, new idle sensor, and new map sensor. Still having P2004 show up and increased performance issues so I replaced the PCV hose. Drove it to the store and it was running better than before but the code was still on. Went to leave the store and now it will just turn over but will not start. Walk to the parts store... 2000 Focus Auto locking

Hello, I am looking for help on how to disable the autolocking on a 2000 ford focus se wagon. I have tried searching the forums and Google, but almost all the responses are how to turn the ignition on and press unlock or the handle 3 times to program it. That does not work on a 2000. I have read about a wire to cut behind the glove box, but unfortunately any page that shows that method is missing pictures or diagrams. Anyone have any pictures or working links so I can see exactly which... 2000 Focus Auto locking ..read more

A/C not accepting R134-A

I had a low port valve blow out last year, replaced it, had the system vacuumed and recharged. All was well. Got hot the other day, no A/C. Went to get my system charged, and had to vacuum it again. Tried to recharge it and only got about 3/4 of a can in and it stopped. We ran into two problems: (For the tutorial both of these things need to be addressed) Problem 1: Turns out the Blower Motor Control Module / Resistor is bad and the A/C will only come on at fan speed 1. That part... A/C not accepting R134-A ..read more

Replacement license plate light blows fuse 62 due to swap in polarity

FYI- Replacement lenses I purchased from O'Reilly's have 3/16" (narrow) spade connectors on the "metal clip" end of the assemblies instead of the 1/4" (wide) connector as shown on website (see attached photo). This change results in the (+) of the narrow connector being directly connected to the (-) of the frame through the metal clip, blowing the fuse immediately. Subtle change is not easy to find or correct; I am not a happy camper! (Vehicle is a 2002 Ford Focus.) Is there a legit... I just bought my 2000 Zx3 Zetec w/manual transmission. When I bought it everything was fine and then it sat about 4 months and everything seems to be going wrong since. It will idle at around the half way point maybe a little less on the gauge all day long but overheats less than 5 miles down the road and the coolant reservoir cap pops off, first thought was replace the thermostat maybe it’s stuck from sitting so I replaced the whole housing with new thermostat and found a leaking hose from... 2000 Zx3 Overheating at stop lights ..read more

2005 pcm/ecm reflash

Hi everyone! I have a 2005 Ford Focus with Duratec engine. Despite hotter plugs, a new air and fuel filter, 0w20 synthetic oil, high mpg tires, and various other maintenance, I have been unable to break 30 miles per gallon even with careful driving (and Im usually a hypermiler). I am strongly considering reflashing the PCM or ECM with the fuel map for the 2007 or 2009 Ford Focus software. What would y'all recommend? I drive about 120 miles per day and the reflash will cost me about $90... 2005 pcm/ecm reflash ..read more
