Temperature going to 90 on the dash in a few minutes.

Hi! I own a 07 Ford Focus (1.6l petrol, 5 speed manual). I have heard that the temperature gauge is a little off (never going to 90 exactly, it's a little less). Is it normal? Because I see it in a lot of those Focuses that are for sale. Also it reaches that point very fast. It could be a month since I haven't started it and in a few minutes it's at the point that it is always, is that also normal? Or is something broken? Many thanks Henri ..read more

2019MK4 LDH noise within bulkhead/engine/air filter triangle

Hi folks, I've had my 2019 MK4 hatchback Focus for about 3 months now. Since a few weeks I've noticed a weird noice coming from between the back of the engine and the bulkhead, near the air filter. It almost sounds like a diesel-like sound while I have a regular petrol car. The sound is most noticeable while idling and between idling and around 1300RPM, after which the noise stops or the engine becomes too loud (I don't know which one). I've read stuff about missing C-clamps around the two heating hoses going into the bullhead, but some mechanic already solved it in the past by wrapping a tie ..read more

I have a Ford Focus 1.6 tdci 2011. The message "engine malfunction"  came on, the fault code is p0069 After the error came, it doesn't have that much power anymore (revs going up normally,  but takes a long time to get up to speed) I have done the following changed the map sensor Cleaned intake temperature sensor Tried clearing the error code. But nothing helps. What could be wrong? And  what is the next thing I should try/investigate? I have some pictures of the measurements if that would be of any help? (MAP kPa was between 113-117 when idling, but also while driving) Many tha ..read more

Removing the dreaded 10 mm nut/bolt (Mk2 rear bumper)

Hi everyone, I'm currently stuck trying to remove the rear bumper of my Ford Focus Mk2 (2009, estate) and could really use some advice. The problematic part is the dreaded 10 mm nut and bolt behind the wheel arch. As you know, the bolt head is in a position that's nearly impossible to reach. Here's a breakdown of the situation: Close-up photo: Shows the washer, nut, and threaded pin. The bolt head isn't visible because of its awkward placement. Wider angle photo: Displays the relationship between the two bumper pieces and the problematic nut. Rivet heads photo: Taken from underneath the bumper ..read more

I'm going to replace my auto'box for a lower mileage, same spec' unit. It's a 2002 Mk1 1.6 four speed. Does it need to be programmed to the ECU or should it be a simple case of plug and play? Thanks for any advice on the swap.     ..read more

Hi, I'm replacing the front end on my 2017 titanium x.    I purchased 2 replacement headlights as the original ones were smashed to pieces however I have just realised it original had bi-xenon lights and I have bought standard halogen style ones (but with a black casing). I have plugged them in and they seem to work- will this cause me any problem such as bulbs blowing, not leveling etc etc I know the bi-xenon are meant to be the upgraded lights but to be honest I prefer the dark casing of the replacements I have   Thanks  ..read more
