Climate Control unit will always be lit up (no loss of power), but will not accept commands, blower and compressor working properly. The system works SOMETIMES, but not Always. My 2012 has the powered rear hatch cylinder lift arms/supports, which are fully functional. However, the socket on the cylinders is held to the ball on the body by a metal clip, which are rusted out and I can’t seem to find? Does anyone know of a vendor/ or part number for these? Gang I have a 2012 Touareg TDI Sport with around 72k miles- runs like a champ. I'm considering using her to tow my classic El Camino on a trailer to a car show for around 1500 miles each way. It came with the tow hitch and wiring already installed. Recently found a 2011 Touareg 3.0 TDI executive and it’s quite clean runs great sounds great. The thing is that is has 265k miles on it. I don’t think I’ve seen that many miles on a tdi Touareg in my life. Its maintenance history shows a good record of regular oil changes but it’s doesn’t show any major repairs such as the timing chain being replaced.
