I have now sorted my problems with the rear glass switch !!! and I now realise that my battery is dead ( great !! ). I've watched videos on how to change the battery but I am wondering where the battery is. Is it on the nearside or the offside ( Is it under the front passenger seat on a UK model ? )What sort of ampeage should I be looking at ? So I have the 01780 vehicle level sensor fault but can see from the live data all sensors are changing with vehicle height EXCEPT the front n/s is way different in value to the other three. Does this mean it may not be knackered and I should try calibration next? Tim ..read more

2005 R5 diesel. I just changed the Gates coupling on the alternator, to do so I removed the inlet manifold and alternator. It's reassembled but now the engine doesn't start. I'm planning to add a 12v socket and a twin USB in one of the surface mounted pods on offer on eBay. It will be under the dash adjacent to the OBD port. Question. Iv'e noticed the used prices on the CR7 have started to drop a little, and I'm tempted to change my old 63 plate 7P TdI for an early CR7 (probably a 68 plate). Realistically, am I likely to see any improvement on mpg? I currently average around 28/30 mpg long term. On long runs I usually manage around 37 mpg, and I can occasionally manage 40 mpg if I drive like miss Daisy.
