After 17 months of ownership the R has been sold via Motorway and collected plus sold again by the purchasing VW dealer within 24hrs of being advertised. The R was my wifes car and ordered during Covid restrictions due to all options she wanted being available from VW but not BMW which she normally has,she picked 11 of the 13 optional extras making it one of the highest spec Rs out there if not the highest. I'm getting ready to service the car and want to order all the stuff that I need. So far I have the recommended 0w-30 504.00/507.00 oil and oil filter. But I was told that because the engine has reverted back to a metal sump that I would need to replace the drain plug washer and maybe the drain plug also? Hi there Tiguan wing of the forum!    Looking at upgrading Golf R Estate to the Tig, but really need to know the distance from the back of the rear seats (the lip thing) to the opposite side, hoping it’s as long as the estate as it a huge deal breaker if not, and I much prefer the Tig over SQ5 and X5M.   if someone had 5 minutes at some point to do that for me I would be eternally grateful.    Thanks alot dudes      ..read more

Thought I'd document my experience of the Tig R, as there doesn't seem to be much chat on them..   I'm on my second one now: https://imgur.com/a/JXo4aeD   First I collected in May, base spec, but lapiz blue. It was an in stock vehicle and took less than two weeks to do the deal. As Tiguan R's are starting to get more owners has anyone tried a Pedal box yet? had them on both my R estates and made a huge difference, my car is still at order stage 2 so won't be with me for a while. Similarly has anyone considered  a winter wheel tyre set up? obviously need to clear the brakes so not sure on smallest wheel size, in some markets 20" is standard (20 x 8.5 ET38 with 255 40 20 tyres) so considering at set of BBS in the same size with winter tyres, anyone done similar ..read more

Did 165 miles yesterday on motorways, A & B roads getting an average of 29.1mpg. Not too bad considering it's size - I think our old 7.5R would have got around 33mpg on a similar trip ..read more
