My vehicle is doing this very weird revving when it’s in idle. It started couple weeks ago and it’s getting progressively worse. Hey there, I have a 2009 Tiguan that has 130,000km on it. We noticed a grinding/whining noise coming from the back end. It seems like the differential is locked up and or possibly damaged? When backing up it feels very jerky and makes a slight noise and turning you can feel is grabbing sometimes. Someone had butchered the rear light wiring in an attempt to graft in trailer wiring and none of the lights were working properly. My daughter went to start her car this morning, said it was stubborn to start up and CE light came on suddenly, and it was idling rough. I let her take my truck to work and when I had time hooked up my Innova 3100RS scanner to it, which has an OEM option to read VW codes.
