Faults & Technical • Wingmirror adjustment problems

Hello, I haven’t adjusted my mirrors for a long time - when I first got the car in 2020 I set the position I like, including the near-side mirror in reverse park mode, and stored that position in memory position 1. Occasionally my OH drives the car and adjusts things - when I get back in, I just hit the no. 1 button on the seat and all returns to ‘normal’. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I had cause to adjust the mirror manually. The behaviour of the mirrors didn’t match what I was doing on the joystick. Either the desired movement translates to nothing at all from the mirror or the adjus ..read more

Hi - just bought a 2023 Karoq Sportline and have noticed that the dashcam, when plugged into the cigarette lighter, is always on (green light on charger plug). Does this matter (will it flatten the battery) or should I look to get an adaptor to run the dashcam through the USB-C ports? (Dashcam itself switches off with ignition, I'm just concerned if the green light on the charger is pulling enough power to eventually kill the battery) Thanks Statistics: Posted by RichardE — Thu May 02, 2024 2:07 pm ..read more

No, it is still set as flexible and therefore next service is due in 8,000 miles (18k since last service). But my driving would lend to a fixed interval and therefore due ASAP? Statistics: Posted by Scottmac2000 — Tue Apr 30, 2024 2:34 pm ..read more

Hi, i can provide full/complete explanation for the kangaroo. It is related to method used the catalyst pre-heating to > 375 oC. In this way(if catalyst is heated) the ECU will run in closed loop, it will work with lambda and not the open loop maps, this will result less CO2 emissions for the WLTP tests. The preheating of the catalyst is made with: 1. spark ignition extreme retard (aprox 5 degrees, to force the heating) 2. very lean fuel mixture for a cold engine (lambda ~1.1, to remain enough unburned oxigen that will support the oxidation) 3. exhaust camshaft retard (for more oxigen in ..read more

Hi, looking for some help to understand the servicing schedule for my (used, new to me) 2021 Skoda Karo 1.5tsi Petrol. I bought its recently from a main dealer under the approved used scheme. I was under the impression that the car would have been up to date on its services. It last had an oil and service just under 1 year ago at 20,470 miles. I bought it at handover at 31,062 miles. My understanding for any car would be oil change every 1 year/10,000 miles so therfore the car would be due an oil change. I reserved and seen the car online and only seen in person at handover, in retrospect I s ..read more
