Hello, I have a new Golf GTE which has done just under 2000 miles at this point. Apart from the disastrous infotainment system it's great. However over the weekend I took it for its first long journey (400 miles) and twice during the drive I noticed really poor (I mean: hardly any) response from brakes, which on a twisty road with oncoming traffic was disconcerting to say the least. Good day all, I have a golf GTE which has just recently run into a gearbox/mechatronic problem , it went into limp mode and I was recovered by the rac , they plugged it in and diagnosed a mechatronic problem , it was taken to a VW main dealer who then told me I need a new gearbox !! , Which I suspect is not the case . Hi folks bit of info for you- I’ve had. Golf GTE for 7 years the battery has degraded by 35% ie only charging to 65% according to VW this should be warranted for 8years or 100k mileage. Be aware they are NOT going to cover you. having had a VW dealer do all the diagnostic work they are now telling me the warranty only covers the first owner- I purchased the vehicle at 6 months old having had a new one on order and no signs of it arriving.
