Hey there. I have a Golf Mk4 from 98' and I got the ABS check light on. I've found out that whether I have the key turned to on or to off or just taken out completely, the pump will start running when I pull a little on the cable in the battery fuse box. I think it's the hydraulic pump starting? That's of course a problem, but is it something wrong with the relay or is there a short circuit somewhere? Is this a common problem or is it gonna be hard or expensive to fix? Let me know, any...

Hey there. I'm pretty new to cars and I haven't really worked on a car engine before, only on smaller engines for scooters, dirt bikes etc. I got a Mk4 from 1998 with a 1.8 petrol engine and a suspension lowering kit a few days ago. It's went about 395k km. It came without a battery, but the guy I bought it from said that it only needs to get a quick look at the brakes, but when I first put a battery in and turned the key, I noticed problems on the dash. Red battery logo, yellow ABS and...

Hello! I just recently purchased a 2001 Jetta TDI. The car is a factory Grey and black car, I found a completely black car at the junk yard and did an interior swap on it. (Just door panels and other trim pieces) taking the glove box out I saw the passenger airbag wasn’t connected at all. Like it got unplugged. The year on the airbag is a year newer than the car(2002) the car fax is clean and it doesn’t look like the car was in an accident. I’m not scared to plug the airbag back in because...

Hi all,
I'm having strange running issues with my 2004 Jetta TDI with the BEW motor. I'm having issues with the turbo apparently cutting out on long hills resulting in a lot of black smoke and low power. I have checked the turbo actuator with a mighty vac and it seems to work perfectly. I am trying to test the N75 valve so I hooked a vacuum gauge into a T in the line going from the N75 to the actuator. When I start the engine I get full vacuum (18-20) and it does not change if I rev the...

Hi,
I got an European Golf MK4, 1.9 TDI, AJM engine code.
One of the coolant hoses going to the oil cooler bursted. I found out the OEM part number is 1J0121086AG but I can't find it anywhere in stock in Romania.
Can anyone help me with an aftermarket part number I can acquire? Thanks ..read more
