Make It Your Own: Clara Sun Woo

Working with different clothing brands allows me to take an outfit that appears one way on a website and change it up by adding my own personal style. If I have learned anything about fashion and style, it is that there is no one way to wear or style anything. And the more one thinks outside the box, the more pleasurable the entire experience becomes. Clara Sun Woo top and bottom, Use cide Lesley10 for everything on the website. Fendi sandals, Celine shades, YSL handbag and necklace, German Kabirski earrings: Use code GK_LESLEYWOLMAN_10 site wide. This outfit looks great on the model, but whe ..read more

Chicos: More Than Just Affordable Fashion

I’ll be honest with you. I have never purchased anything from Chicos before. It was just never on my fashion radar, and for no particular reason. My mom, however, has been a fan for years, and some of her best looks have been by Chicos. When Chicos approached me to be part of their June campaign, I perused the plethora of clothes and thought, sure…why not? There is so much to choose from; their website is filled with color, style, whimsy and polished pieces. Here are some of the pieces I chose and how I decided to style them. Chicos Embellished Poplin Dress, Valentino sandals, Oliver Peoples ..read more

Israeli Fashion by Ronen Chen

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of the Israeli fashion designer Ronen Chen (pronounced “hen”, that sound at the back of your throat, not ch as in cheetah, but ch as in Chanukah). Ok enough about how to pronounce Hebrew words, and on to what I love about Ronen’s designs. Although I tend to fill my closet with structured, colorful, cropped and figure hugging pieces, I am also attracted to unstructured, monochromatic and timeless dresses, pants and tops, and that’s what you will find inside a Ronen Chen store. He also has an eye for accessories, which he does not design himself, but which he ..read more

ATM Stands For Fashion

I was first inroduced to ATM Collection years ago when I first purchased their now famous slub cotton t-shirts. They are made of Peruvian cotton and no one does them better than ATM. Fast forward to 8 years later and I am now an ATM partner! Who knew? The quality of their t-shirts ( I still wear my 8 year old ATM tees) speaks for itself. ATM stands for Anthony Thomas Miello, its designer. ATM now includes fashion for both women and men. The collection, which is made of sustainble materials, is what I would describe as cool and hip. The outfits are easy to dress up or down. This 2 piece silk t ..read more

Polka Dots and Palazzo Pants

Spring is here and the fashion forecast is bright and sunny. Polka dots are still in fashion as are wide leg palazzo pants. If you had told me that these would be flattering on a 5’3″ woman, such as myself, I would have balked. However with the addition of a heel and a fitted top, it absolutely flatters, even elongates the body. This top and bottom by Benaar LA creates this type of magic, It is one of my absolute favorite outfits and I can’t wait to give it proper airtime this season. I will wear this to a brunch or luncheon, or out for dinner. In other words, the possibilities are endless. B ..read more

In The Red

Not one to ever shy away from color, I wear red every chance I get. Bright colors and jewel tones suit me better than pastels, which tend to wash me out. It is always helpful to know your fashion color palette, as it makes choosing clothing so much easier. This outfit came together with pieces that I’ve owned for a while. I started with these fabulous Moncer track pants, which I also have in black, here and here. I do that occasionally. If a pant or top fits me well and is available in other colors and on sale, I will buy it in both colors. The blazer is by Marella, and I picked it up a coup ..read more

Have you ever heard of the brand Pumiey? If you haven’t, I am about to introduce you. This clothing company has been taking the internet by storm, and for good reason. Pumiey makes ctohing, primarilbody suits and form fitted maxi dresses, that are well….magical. I don’t know what they add to the fabric but these clothes hold you up and hold you in. They fit and flatter like nothing I have ever worn before. I am not wearing a bra with this dress, and yet, I don’t feel unsupported at all. Best of all, is its price of $34.99!! Here is the link to the dress. I chose to style this in three ways an ..read more

Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone and Into Black Halo

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.”  ~William Shakespeare Midsummer Night’s Dream  Ethereal and romantic all at once, this gown  conjures  images of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Wearing something so unstructured and flowy was a style departure for me, since I tend to wear more fitted, body-conscious clothing, especially given my 5’3” frame. Based on the plethora of compliments I received when I wore this to a friend’s wedding a couple of weeks ago, I’d say I am now a true fan of Black Halo.  Henna Gown in Lur ..read more
