Well we were invited the day before the eclipse to join a friend in a trip to Picton Ontario for a personal reason and it coincided with the eclipse. We scrambled to find some glasses and ended up at a welding supply and purchased a couple of lenses for a welding goggle for $2.50 each. We got to Picton in lots of time, did our errands and then headed to a winery for a snack, some wine and to watch the eclipse. Well it was overcast. I have a 12" 1.5 MHz G4 powerbook, 2004 (yup old) PRAM data refuses to load. In other machines this is simple. Change the PRAM battery. On these machines there is no PRAM battery, but rather a PRAM capacitor charging the PRAM, and it is blown. Does anyone know of a facility that will (a) do on board repairs and replace the capacitor or (b) does work on these machines and can source, test and replace the logic board.
