I'd like to get my Mother a used Apple watch for it's heart monitoring function. Far as I can tell, there hasn't been any new heart monitoring functions or sensors added to the newer watches, so I should be able to get by with an older model. We're not concerned with getting any monitoring function like blood oxygen level, only heart monitoring. I posted this on my MTB forum, and wanted to get some feedback here as well... I've had a Fenix 6x for ~2 years now and its great. Huge, controls are clunky, but the mapping/navigation/tracking on trails for MTB (and hikes) is awesome. I use trailforks to create routes and pretty easily send them to my Fenix.
