Hi, If anyone's interested this group was created as a gathering place so members can regroup etc. It might be members want a forum type site in the future, it might be Facebook is fine for everyone keeping in touch and posting bits and bobs? It's a private site and I hope many of you will want to keep in touch through the page, there are a few who've offered to moderate so it spreads the workload. https://www.facebook.com/groups/989792655611280 At the end of the day the closure of the forum isn't something that should cause any ill feeling, we've had a great time, I've ran forums in the pa ..read more

Sadly…It’s Time To Say Goodbye……Notice of Forum Closure. Dearest YKF members, I’m so sorry to say that after many hours of very difficult deliberations, it is with much regret that after 9 years, I now have to inform you that I have made the decision to close the forum, and this closure will be taking effect on Tues 10th October. I opened my Yamaha Keyboard Forum in 2014, and so after all these years, it has certainly not been an easy decision to take. But due to a number of personal reasons and ever changing circumstances, I know that it is now the right time for me to close the forum. I woul ..read more

Display adaptor
The Yamaha Keyboard Forum

Hi All, Having just spent a lot of fruitless searches for a display adapter to output the screen image from my Genos to a separate, bigger monitor ( For karaoke and to help those playing alongside me ) I have at last found one and hope that this will help anyone else avoid all the returns to Amazon, and others, that I have had to do. Its an   I-tec USB 2.0 to VGA costing £39.99 - now reduced to £27 51 dammit ! Although it's shown with a CD for the software driver ( which would be no use on our keyboards,) it actually comes ready to work with no CD. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004 ..read more

An original I call "Thinking Back"
The Yamaha Keyboard Forum

Here's another original that has something to do with nostalgia, with folk music, with taking a look back at some memories. No lyrics so you'll be spared my golden baritone for a change.  I'm wondering: is it too trite, musically speaking? Too predictable? Too, dare I say, boring? I don't know. I'd like straight feedback because I'm too close to the tune to evaluate it. I will say I rather like it. Just wondering if it's too ... something.  Here you go:  https://app.box.com/s/1yv0vm9cvyieswj1cxrpnnjhadp4w5iv Thanks for any feedback. I've still got the terrible habit of recor ..read more

As she puts her hand in mine

This is such a lovely tune I decided it needed to get heard. It was composed by my good friend Allan Smith, after the birth of his Granddaughter.  OK, Style used is an 8bt piano ballad, tempo about 69. Voices used, Romance strings & slow strings, and a quiet boys choir ooh on the left hand. Accordion voice of course is from the Roland FR4-X. It was all recorded direct into the Tyros 5 and no tweaking was needed. Video was shot on my iphone 14promax in cinematic mode.
