Recently I experienced the magical holiday event that is Camp Christmas, which takes place at Heritage Lakewood Bellmar Park (801 S Yarrow St, Lakewood, CO 80226). The camp is primarily outdoors, with several opportunities to visit decked-out indoor displays (and warm up!) throughout. Camp Christmas is presented by Hanzon Studios and DCPA Off-Center, and created by the brilliant artist Lonnie Hanzon. Journey through a fantastical wonderland of lights, dazzling decorations, music, and memorabilia as you explore mesmerizing yuletide scenes spread across a six-acre landscape. I’m so happy to be back today. I almost lost my blog. It’s a long story and I’m not going to go into the details. For several days I lived with the devastating possibility that 11 years of the documentation of my story would be forever lost. Fortunately, that didn’t happen, and I appreciate blogging even more that I did when I first started. In celebration of my return, I’m sharing the collaboration with Spruce Design, an exquisite service that brings elevated beauty to your exterior entry. The process is simple and created to make your life easy. They  design, curate, and install everyth ..read more

Thank you so much for the many heartwarming, supportive, and kind comments on my most recent blog post. I felt so much love from each and everyone of you. It reinforces my intention to continue blogging and sharing my thoughts and my style. Style Crone has always been a lifeline, and the time of Covid is no exception. Today I’m sharing a video that I made this past December. I remember clearly that it was on a Friday. Upon awakening, I felt a sense of inner peace and hopefulness that was life affirming and energizing. It continued throughout the day and evening until bedtime. I flowed through ..read more

Colorado Matters Interview on Colorado Public Radio

I had the pleasure and honor to be interviewed by the master interviewer Ryan Warne for Colorado Matters on Colorado Public Radio. We met in my garden and covered numerous topics ranging from  the history of my blog which launched in 2010 to ageism and the meaning of the word “crone.” Check out the web feature at CPR, which also provides a link to the live interview. CPR’s photographer Hart Van Denberg shot photos of me as I demonstrated how I take my own images with a tripod, remote, and iPhone. It became necessary for me to learn self photography during lockdown, as I wasn’t meet ..read more

I have been out of the habit of blogging. September is the month to regain my momentum and reignite my passion for posting on a regular basis. I decided that writing about my participation in the Fashion West Fashion Show was a good place to start. Fashion West – the runway show and magazine– are presented by a distinguished list of Denver based fashion, media, modeling and beauty industry professionals. Their individual backgrounds and careers span decades and have their roots in fashion and professional beauty capitols worldwide. The founders have also worked for many years behind the scene ..read more

Blogging During COVID

I’m having difficulty keeping up my weekly blogging routine during these unpredictable times. I have no intention of “giving up” Style Crone, and I’ve been struggling to determine the issues behind my delinquency. I have several theories, but most of all I don’t know why this has been problematic. It could be that there is so much to write about, but I’m not able to express myself. Even during the time that Nelson was dying, I found it healing to be consistent with blogging. It could be related to the fact that most of the time I’m taking my own photos with a tripod and a remote. This is tim ..read more

Hopeful For 2021

It’s been a long time since I published a post on Style Crone. I don’t even know how long! Today I’m giving it a try. Writing has been difficult, though I’ve been taking photos for Instagram. Expressing myself on my blog with the written word feels blocked and uncertain. I took these photos in the alley by myself just before the inauguration. It was my way of celebrating. I wore a veiled spiral headpiece from my developing Pandemic Collection, a vintage little black mini dress with ruffles, vintage gloves, vintage rhinestones, and vintage shoes. Photos by Style Crone. Thank you Daniel for t ..read more

I met Igor Dobranic of IGOR Fashion Brand at the Curate Show in NYC several years ago. I was instantaneously a fan! IGOR Fashion Brand is an international premium womenswear brand founded and seated in Croatia. The brand was started in 2005 as a small manufacturer and is now an internationally respected brand with over 200 stores carrying IGOR. Every single item is hand made, which fits with my focus on sustainability. IGOR defines his fashion as, “classy, timeless, effortless, relaxed, minimal, romantic, with simple lines, and without current influences – somewhat unconventional.” I’m ..read more

The Vintage White Silk Velvet Gown In The Powder Room
Style Crone

This post is a continuation of the tour of my home. As I continue to shelter in place, taking these photos with a tripod and remote was challenging. I wanted to feature the silver leaf walls in my renovated powder room, which were created by my dear friend Sarah Ashford of Sarah Ashford Studio. I love how the walls glow and reflect images depending on the lighting. I love walking into this space, which is generously accessorized with mirrors, and my vintage white gown fits with the motif. I discovered this vintage silk velvet gown with puffy sleeves, which luxuriously drape from the shoulder ..read more
