Hi everyone! After getting a camera feeder, I have a new found love for birds! I’m looking to get a birding camera and have narrowed it down to a few options that I’d love to get your input on. For context, I know none of these are exceptional setups and am just looking for the best choice here. I have ADHD and want to be sure this is a hobby I’ll stick with (not another hyperfixation) before investing more money. Thank you! Panasonic DMC-FZ150K Sony Cybershot DSC-H300 Canon... Yet another bridge camera thread...

Hi all, I'm thinking of getting a new bridge camera, as the Panasonic DMC-LZ30 (specs here: Specs - DMC-LZ30 LUMIX Bridge Cameras - Panasonic ) that I've had for 9 years is getting a bit battered and having problems like the zoom frequently sticking. I'm not very technical and would like a camera that is simple to use and has a good autofocus as I struggle to get my head round manually adjusting stuff. I'd also like a camera that's fairly lightweight as I'm into hiking and scrambling... Read more ..read more

Anyone used Camera in the Post?

This site Camera In The Post has the OM90mm macro at a very good price. I am aware they are 'grey' imports which doesn't worry me. A lot of my gear has been bought this way. I've have recommended HDEW before but this place is over £100 cheaper. Very good reviews on Trustpilot but keen to hear directly from someone has used them. Steve ..read more

Hi all, I want to ask about if going with a camera model say for example EOS R7 can be a great or better upgrade from old models of DSLRs such as 30D or 7D or 1D Mark III? Also which R model that is equivalent [or better than] to the old model of Canon 1DX? I am doing sports photography mainly soccer for a while in the past and stopped, now i want to get back to that, and add birding if possible and wildlife which is rare in my country, but i know the fast camera that i use for sports and... Compact Camera Suggestions? Upgrading from Canon PowerShot SX720 HS

Hello everyone, I've been using the Canon PowerShot SX720 HS as my secondary camera for a while now. Its portability and whopping 40X zoom lens, equivalent to 24-960mm, make it a convenient companion that I can take with me everywhere. However, since it was released almost 10 years ago, I've been wondering if there are any upgrades available. I'm aware of the Canon SX740 HS, but it seems to be pretty much the same camera. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ..read more

Focus lost when I track flying birds from sky into noisy background

I have Canon R7 with RF 100-500 lense. When I am tracking a bird, such as an Eagle across the sky, the focus is fine, but as soon as the background becomes busy with trees and other noise, the camera loses focus easily, and searches for focus again. Are there any settings which can help with this issue? Jon ..read more

Beginner camera recommendations?

Hello! I started bird photography about six months ago with a Canon Rebel T3i and an EF 75-300 mm lens that I got from a relative. Now I want to purchase a newer camera and lens, I’m looking to spend $1000 or less and get something used, and was wondering what the best option would be. I’m considering either a DSLR or mirrorless, and like the idea of a 400mm lens if it would work in my budget. Thanks for the help ..read more

Hi All,I have problems with sensitive eyes, and have to use Sun Glasses, especially abroad ie ( Spain ) I was wondering can anyone recommend any type/make that they are using ?? I've tried a few makes/ types but can't find any that fit the bill.there dosnt seem to be many out there with a flat profile. I'm using some by Oakley which have side shades which are helpful, but are slightly curved which makes it difficult with the camera pressed tight against the glass for BIFs in typically bright...
