Planning out my next box, 2 12 inches downfiring. Confused on the port sizing, according to calculation, 33 hertz tube with a cross area of 58.5 calls for a 54inch length. I would like to have the port downfire in between the 2 subs, if the end of the port has a 4.5inch width, at the t split, should I halve the width to 2.25inches or keep it the 4.5? Reduse reuse. I made a USB extender of an old usb port that came from a broken monitor. 3D printed a housing for it and soldered a female USB-C connector. Worked on my computer, but my headunit (Sony XAV-AX3005DB) was complaining about over current. Multimeter showed no short. I made a post in the past about my subs smelling, I didn't set the gain correctly when going from 8ohms to 1ohm and almost fried my subs haha. Anyways I have a question that I already looked up and seems unanswered and disputed across all forums so I wanted opinions. Does bass boost from the head unit create distortion or clipping? I recently added a 12 and had way to much power going to them and kept smelling the coils constantly.
