Rockford Fosgate 250m2 left channel issues

Hi everyone. I am currently working on a Rockford Fosgate Punch 250m2. The Amp powers up and the right channel plays as it should. The left channel however, is having some issues. If I run the Amp below 11.8v, the left channel will play loud and clear. If I raise the input voltage above 11.8v, i am only able to get roughly 10 watts out of the left channel before it starts to distort very badly. However, under no load the left channel produces a clean sine wave at all input voltages. I can't... Read more ..read more

Hi all , I am just getting into amplifier repair. I have read Perry’s guide and watched Barevids videos. I purchased a lot of amplifiers and have successfully repaired a few. I have what looks like a basic Zenon 5k Korean amp. The power supply fets, gate resistors and buffer transistors are all toast. The issue I have is the board has burned through. I have a few of these amps and I added photos of the burnt pcb along with an undamaged one for reference. Is there a proper way to repair this... Read more ..read more

This unit has one damaged channel. U1 is a IRS20124S. Is there something else I can use without needing to replace them in every channel? Also, D32 has JS written on it. Not sure what that part is. Q21 says 2Q and Q22 says W1A? I have to go out but will try to look up the 3 in the code book later or tomorrow. Biggest issue currently is the IRS20124S. I got the output transistors. Thanks in advance! Pics coming in a minute ..read more

Preventing damage to tweeter when connecting midrange and tweeter in parallel

Hi guys I bought a car audio system from abroad. But I have a problem. I need to connect the midrange and tweeter in parallel. I use the crossover mode on the amplifier with the hpf option. This option can cut frequencies in the range of 32-2000 Hz. (I will add photos) The problem is that I use this setting at the extreme end (2000hz) to avoid damaging the tweeter, which causes the sounds to sound very high-pitched. Can I reduce this frequency setting if I connect a capacitor in series with... Read more ..read more

So: I have decided to upgrade from my current sub: which is a sealed cerwin vega VEGA series 10". I can only get 1 sub due to space constraints, and yes, two is too wide unfortunately. I can either swap out the vega for something a bit more powerful (ported or sealed), or I can go up in size and get a 12" (sealed). What would y'all recommend? I have a 1.05 cu.ft sealed box ..read more

The eurovox brand amplifier, model: EV-A1000D This amplifier does not have audio. Check with the oscilloscope. I do not have a pulse train in the gate. Apparently the transistors Q110, Q111, Q112 were manipulated. I don't know if they are the correct license plates. If anyone had information about the amplifier or which pulses to check, I would appreciate it. much Greetings ..read more

SoundStream XXX 6500 output issues

Good afternoon, Power supply seems to be working great. Thank you Perry. New problem. Input voltage 13v. Apply remote. Both rails build quickly and evenly. Soon as they reach 120v I hear a loud click or pop sound from somewhere on the high side of the output section and both rails drop immediately to near 0v (almost like they got grounded). If I hold remote for a few seconds longer, I hear what sort of sounds like arcing and the neg rail stays near 0v while the pos rail tries to build back... Read more ..read more
