BOSTON (CBS) — Vince Wilfork is getting a red jacket this summer. The former New England defensive lineman was announced as the 32nd inductee into the Patriots Hall of Fame on Tuesday. Fans voted Wilfork into the Hall in his first year of eligibility, making him the sixth player to achieve that accomplishment, joining Drew Bledsoe (2011), Troy Brown (2012), Tedy Bruschi (2013), Ty Law (2014) and Kevin Faulk (2016). Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the George F. Doherty Funeral Home at 477 Washington Street in Wellesley. BOSTON (CBS) — The NFL is releasing its 2022 schedule on Thursday night. In the meantime, reports are popping up left and right about certain games on certain dates featuring certain opponents. Among those reports is one stating the Patriots will be playing in Minnesota on Thanksgiving night, in prime time, against the Vikings. BOSTON (CBS) — The Patriots made an addition on Wednesday, claiming tight end Matt Sokol off waivers. Sokol had been waived by the Detroit Lions this week. Sokol, 26, has spent time on the rosters of the Chargers, Jaguars and Lions, earning two stints with each of those three teams. That included some time in Detroit when Matt Patricia was head coach in 2020.
