The Disney Wonder When you’re vacationing with Disney, whether that’s Disneyland, Walt Disney World, or on the Disney Cruise Line, it’s easy to forget that the real world exists. You’re immersed in a fantasy world where childhood dreams come true and magic happens all around you. But the truth is, a Disney vacation IS part of the real world, and like it or not, sometimes things go wrong. In past blogs I talked about having to go to a medical clinic in Walt Disney World, losing my driver’s license in Animal Kingdom, and taking a fall in Disneyland. Today I wanted to talk about something we n ..read more

Welcome to Gold Creek in Juneau! For my family’s recent Alaska cruise on the Disney Wonder, we booked a shore excursion called Historic Gold Panning and Salmon Bake. This port adventure took place in Juneau. (But we don’t talk about Juneau. HA HA HA! Sorry.) On the way to Gold Creek! When you go to book your port excursions, you will notice that there are two gold panning adventures listed. One is simply the trip to Gold Creek to pan for gold. The second is that same adventure followed by a salmon bake. We opted to do the adventure with the salmon bake. Inside the Crown and Fin The meeting ..read more

Skagway, Alaska When my family and I looked at the possible shore excursions we could take during our cruise to Alaska onboard the Disney Wonder, one popped out at us right away: The Musher’s Camp and S’mores Roasting Adventure! We were so happy that we were able to book this one. This port adventure is in Skagway, which is a charming little town that reminded me immediately of the old TV show Northern Exposure. We did not see a moose walking down the street, and we learned on our port adventure that there aren’t enough valleys for moose to herd here. Our bus For this port adventure, we met ..read more

Welcome to Triton’s on the Disney Wonder! Triton’s is a restaurant that is part of the rotational dinner service on board the Disney Wonder. It is also occasionally open for breakfast and lunch. Since this ship is not on the Dream, I was looking forward to experiencing it! Our first meal at Triton’s was for lunch. All of our other lunches were enjoyed at the bountiful buffet called Cabanas. But we thought we’d try something different one day. It’s impossible to miss this restaurant, as it is located right in the atrium. Servers When you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by a gauntle ..read more

Welcome to Tiana’s Place on the Disney Wonder! Tiana’s Place is a full-service restaurant that is part of the rotational dining service aboard the Disney Wonder. My family was scheduled to eat dinner here three times during our cruise. We wound up only eating here twice for reasons which….well, that’s the subject of another blog post! Since Tiana’s Place is not a restaurant on the Dream, I was excited to try it. Tiana’s is located just beyond the French Quarter lounge. This lounge is decorated in a Doctor Facilier theme. During the day, craft sessions are held here and guests can order beign ..read more

Our table at Animator’s Palate Animator’s Palate is one of the restaurants that are part of the rotational dining service on board the Disney Wonder. My family had already experience the Dream’s version of this restaurant, so we were excited for what culinary and entertainment adventures it would give us on the Wonder! Every detail is animation themed This restaurant is a full-service establishment, and as you can see the moment you enter the dining room, the theme is the art of Disney animation. On our first dinner service here, we got to watch pencil sketches of Disney characters in progre ..read more

Of the three rotational dining venues onboard the Disney Wish, Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is the most immersive experience. Kids will love the atmosphere before they even enter the dining hall. Parents will also love it, as the entertainment portions of the dining experience are scheduled so that they do not interfere with the dining. Courses are served so that you can enjoy each one before the next part of the show starts. The corridor to the dining venue is decorated with a knight in shining armor and many pictures of Anna, Elsa, and their ancestors. Cast members are dressed ..read more

Review of an Interior Stateroom on the Disney Wonder

Welcome to Stateroom 6067 on the Disney Wonder! My family sailed on the Disney Wonder to Alaska. I had never sailed on this particular ship before. Previously, my family had sailed on the Dream in a stateroom with a verandah. This time, we booked an interior cabin, which was less expensive. Let’s take a look at stateroom 6067. Cruise line cabins overall are known for being small, but when the Wonder was first built, it prided itself on having some of the largest staterooms in the industry. Despite its small size, we were simply amazed by how much room we had. Clothing for three people easily ..read more

Review of The Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel

The perfect place to stay before a Disney Cruise from Vancouver I’m going to say it yet again: If you are taking a Disney Cruise and have to travel to your embarkation port, it is imperative that you arrive a day early. My family recently sailed on a Disney Wonder cruise to Alaska. We wisely chose to fly in a day early. Why wisely, you may ask? Because our flight was delayed by hours. There were people on that flight who had cruises booked on other ships that were leaving that day. Some of those people raced to get off the plane as soon as it landed, and I seriously hope they made it onboard ..read more
