Tura Headland and the rock pools at the end of the walk are a spectacular sight. We ventured out to the headland on a day when it was blowing a gale. Even though the weather was less than perfect, it is still a stunning spot to see. In this short guide to the Tura Headland walk, we’ll let you know about the walk, what you will see on the way and how to find the rock pools. We also did the short walk to Dolphin Cove from the Tura Headland Carpark, so we’ll let you know about that too. It feels like the southern New South Wales town of Merimbula is surrounded by water. This isn’t just because there are several lovely beaches around the town. It also straddles Merimbula Lake; a stunning area with lots of wildlife and great views. One of the best ways to experience the lake is from the Merimbula Boardwalk. It takes you through mangrove forests and past oyster farms. Along the walk you can see fish, crabs, stingrays, swans and pelicans. If it is not beach weather, or you want water views without getting sand between your toes, check out our guide on the Merimbula Lake Boardwal ..read more

Tathra is a small village on the Sapphire Coast in southern NSW. It wasn’t really on our radar when we planned a trip to Eden, but the more we researched the region, the more Tathra and Kianinny Bay came up. Kianinny bay is a stunning spot in Tathra. There is a boat ramp there, a picnic ground and a lookout where you get a great view of this beautiful spot. Its sheltered water make it a great place for a snorkel or swim. You can also see huge stingrays follow the fishing boats in as they look for some fish scraps. Here is a quick guide to Kianinny Bay and why you should put it on your itinerar ..read more

Established on the back of the whaling industry, the southern New South Wales town of Eden is now recognised as one of best places to see whales on their annual migration between Antarctica and Australia. But if you happen to be in Eden outside of the whale season (which runs from May to the end of October), is it still worth going on a nature cruise? Sunset on 2023: Highlights from a Year of Unforgettable Australian Travels

As we sat back to reflect on our favourite travel in 2023, we quickly realised that it had been a busy year. We had hoped to get back to Tassie but that didn’t happen. We did however get to Broken Hill, Cairns, Canberra, the Great Ocean Road and Darwin. We also did a campervan relocation between Adelaide and Alice Springs and spent some time in southeast South Australia and western Victoria. It’s no wonder we couldn’t fit Tasmania in this year! It is also hard to narrow down our favourite 10 or 12 stories. Maybe because it is our most recent trip, but a highlight was staying in Apollo Bay and ..read more
