Rear 8.8 question

Are the 98-02 8.8 out Vic's and marquis narrower than 03 plus? Google is giving me conflicting info of whether they are 62 or 65 inches (wms/wms). There isn't one in local yard for me to measure and the 98 on car-part is about 120 miles away and if they pull it, I own it. submitted by /u/rooxter [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Rubber oil pump intake?

I’m replacing the gasket in my oil pump and now the pump feed line won’t fit back into the pump. I unscrewed the pan again and tried to level it up but now while it’s in the pan won’t fit. I puke it be possible to use rubber from my oil pump intake filter to the pump itself? It’s less than a half foot and I think temperature wise it would be fine, I just don’t want to mess with this metal anymore. Thanks! submitted by /u/Tight-Razzmatazz1445 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

We inherited a 1955 F100. I want to fix the breaks up first, especially as it is sitting in a gerage up a hill, and we have to move soon. I know the rears are drums- but I what are the front? Or does it even have front breaks? submitted by /u/DirtGirl32 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I recently picked up a 1964 step side with a 292 and 4 speed, are there any ways to tell from the VIN weather it’s a 4x4 or not? submitted by /u/Tight-Razzmatazz1445 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Dana 60 axle end play

Friends, So the rear Dana 60 out of a 66 F100 ( thank you Reddit for helping me identify) has a LOT of end play in the axles (0.09"). This is after removing all shims behind the backing plates. Any ideas on what to do? I think the shins are the only adjustment. I pressed new wheel bearings on both axles, okay is about the same as before the new bearings and seals. In removing the old wheel bearings, it was apparent that they've been replaced before from tool marks on the axles. So, maybe something was removed and not reinstalled?
