I just finished a rebuild On my 01 7.3l 4R100 transmission. test drove it yesterday and transmission engages in all positions normally, however, it appears to be slipping in 1st gear. Once the truck reach about 15 mph, transmission works as normal and shifts through all gears. One other note, when shifting it is so soft that you can only tell by rpm change. Checked line pressure today and it was around 60 psi. in D. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You ..read more

I have a 2013 F250 Diesel with the integrated Brake Controller. I recently converted my 5th wheel trailer brakes over to Electric over Hydraulic with a Hydrastar pump. The OEM brake controller has a selection for the EOH trailer brakes however it does not seem to work any different than the standard Electric brake mode, please advise. Thanks Steve ..read more

Power running boards…adjustable?
SuperDuty Diesel Forums

Greetings all. New to the forum, but already have a question before I visit the dealer. Have a 2020 F350 KR, with power running boards, which are great. However, sometimes the driver side board acts like it contacts something and retracts itself, but if I open rear door, it extends as usual. Is the door switch adjustable or does it have to be replaced? Doesn’t do this all the time, but frustrating when it does. Looking for ideas on what I could do vs. cost to replace switch ..read more

Back in a Ford Superduty Diesel after 3 Toyotas and 15 years

Hello everyone, the title sums it up. My last F250 was an '06 with the 6.0L. It gave me so many issues I swore off of Fords alltogether preferring to drive Toyotas 100k miles with no issues, and then trade them in for a new one. After seeing the new Tundras, with a turbo V6, I couldn't bring myself to even look at them. Always loved the CC F250, having owned a '91 7.3L non-turbo, a '96 7.3 Powerstroke, and lastly the '06 6.0L. Realizing that the 6.7L platform has been in the truck... Read more ..read more

SDD Amsoil Synthetics Test

Volunteer needed! I would like to do a test here on SDD for everybody to see and watch the results unfold before our eyes. I would need to get a volunteer that does not currently use synthetic oils but have been thinking of switching to synthetics and extending their Oil Change Interval (OCI) such as Frankenstein. You may have been skeptical about doing such a switch and extending OCI to this point because the 6.0L PSD is known to shear oil down very fast. If you want to... Read more ..read more

92 F350 7.3 idi auto trans flexplate/flywheel question

My 92 wedge truck has 171000 with a Metric auto trans. I started it and there is a grinding noise from hell coming from the area where the engine and trans meet. Pulled the bell housing cover and found play in the flywheel to the tune of 5 teeth side to side. Torque converter and flywheel are turning in sync and all bolts are tight. I'm thinking the flywheel bolts have come loose and maybe wallowed out the holes in the flywheel. Any suggestions or direction before I take apart as to what I... Read more ..read more

Rollup diameter soft Tonneau (X15) vs hard Rollup (Sentry CT) on Superduty
SuperDuty Diesel Forums

I have in the past used the Truxedo Sentry CT rollup tonneau on a 6.8 bed so I have a pretty good idea of the roll diameter when it is retracted. I am trying to understand what the roll diameter is for a X15 or similar soft tonneau. I am placing a full size Harley in the bed which when placed with a hard cover requires a 6" offset from the from the truck bed due to the diameter of the rollup extending into the bed. I was wondering if the soft roll tonneau covers are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller... Read more ..read more
