99 7.3 L turbo diesel recently replaced high-pressure oil pump. Had dead battery so I couldn’t pressurize the system. once I got the new batteries got it to pressurize started ran great. Two months later started having rough idol and when it would shift from first second gear, it would boost all of a sudden and sound like it was in a hard acceleration and black smoke coming out of the exhaust. there’s no oil leak anywhere that i can see. I have an instrument cluster plug w/ a broken keeper tab. It seems there should be at least an aftermarket replacement. It’s the 20pin (16 sm/4 lg pins) I’ve looked a fair amount finding -0- info. not trying to make this long but I was inspecting for an issue of running bad and discovered my wastegate actuator arm is not connected I did this by feel as I cannot really see it.
