C6 Vacuum Modulator

Ok, I know I ain't been on here in a while... I'm sorry. I moved to New Mexico and found that I can have a life. I have a C6 transmission in little itty bitty parts over my shop and I should be starting the rebuild after pics and final cleaning. I have one part that is driving me nuts. The vacuum modulator. The only thing I know for certain is that it's a C6 made sometime between 1966 and 2004. The modulator is the screw in style. The only colors I can find are green stripe and white... I have this 1996 F250 truck since about 2004 at 110,000 miles. It has the original 460 gas engine in it. Extended cab, short bed. Since we got it, it’s just been used to haul feed and hay and groceries, at times - it’s registered as a TX farm vehicle. It has 140k miles. The interior is in good shape - no rips or tears. It needs bodywork, paint and dash repair. I wanted to restore it for my son but now he says not interested. I recently had the entire fuel system reworked so it was back to... 1996 F250 with 139000 miles ..read more

Steering pump / pulley?

I bought a new power steering pump for my 1970 F100 ( 360) . Old pump and pulley were not salvageable. Can't seem to find the proper pulley for it? Shaft on pump, straight, no taper diameter is about 11/16 or 0.687. The pulley I did find on ebay, according to seller, has a shaft hole diameter ID ,tapered, of 0.6880- 0.6770. Seems like a pretty hard press??? Does this seem like a normal specification for a press fit on this pump ? Thanks in advance ..read more

1961 F100 4x4 project - need advice!

My son and I are considering buying a 1961 Ford F100 4x4 styleside custom cab with 292 V8. Asking price is $7,500. The owner says it is all original and starts/runs and drive. Very little rust. The truck is far away from us so hard to assess from afar. We do have the VIN plate and specs check out. One concern we have is that only ~2,800 of this model were made in 1961. Would we have a hard time finding replacement parts? Would greatly appreciate all of your advice ..read more

I have some parts left over after selling my 1978 F-250 crew cab. What I am currently interested in is the value of the rear bench seat. My memory from back then is fading but I am sure these are rear seats - back hinges. Original structure and black vinyl has no rips (maybe original). Any thoughts? I can find no info on the web. Located on Vancouver Island, BC. Thanks for your help ..read more

I have a 1972 f100 in primer ready to get painted. Does anyone know what the stock colors are on this truck. We have done samples and determined the lighter blue is probably Diamond Blue, or possibly Wind Blue. Im hoping someone here might have a better grasp on ford stock colors for 1971 or 1972 f100s. Any advice? Thanks ..read more
