Why is there no speaking softly and carrying a big stick chambered in 470 NE?
I was pondering guns I could have in classic cartridges (mostly rimmed), without double gun money, and it struck me. How is it that neither Winchester nor Marlin created a lever gun in a low pressure, high performance safari cartridge that you could load on Sunday and shoot all week? Your second shot would be slower than a double but arguably faster than a bolt and the double guys don't have two or three more...

Browsing their website (REALLY shouldn't do that) and saw an excellent throughout, Japanese-made Browning 1885 in 454 Casull; hex barrel, 28" long, asking $1899.99; could be tempting for someone; mebbe cut the chamber to 460S&W for a little more OOMPH? I'm in no position to buy, but can imagine it on Bear, Bison and L/G in Afrika ..read more

I'm going back to Africa in exactly 1 year next June for a Leopard hunt 14 days and possibly hyena. My goodness I've always been a big fan of Zeiss, Swaro and Kahles scopes for extreme low light hunting. I just received my new S&B Polar T96 4-16x50 today. This thing has 96% light transmission in a 34mm tube. I thought my Zeiss Victory 3-12x56 was bright on those dark evenings deer hunting at 92%. I know these scopes have been out for like 4 or 5 years. This really has set a benchmark for...

A couple of weeks ago I won a bid on gun broker and have acquired a Winchester 30-06 made in 1972, it went for 1.00 under what I was willing to spend on it, now I have to figure out what ring height to put on it and a scope for it,was thinking Talley quick release rings and a scope in the 2-7x range, any words of wisdom and advice ..read more

Hi,
My name is Chris and I have an addiction. When I was 16, I bought my first loading press.... Fast forward 15 years and my stockpile of loading stuff would take a whole ryder truck just to move. You know you're addicted when:
1. You pick up brass at the range compulsively, most of which you don't load for but you just CAN'T. HAVE. ENOUGH!
2. You get more excited when you see an RCBS Rock Chucker for sale cheap than almost anything else.
3. You buy WAYYYY more brass and bullets than...
