A retired Chief Superintendent and Lancashire Resilience Forum Chair is running a half-marathon in memory of her friend and colleague.
Wendy Bower, a retired Chief Superintendent at Lancashire Police has signed up for the Great Manchester Run to honour Peter Lawson and to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

A man from Preston has been arrested after two burglaries and a theft in the city.
Lancashire Police arrested a man on Monday (15 April) after being called from an address on Bellis Way in Walton-le-Dale. Occupants of the house disturbed a man who had fled from the scene.

This incident follows calls in February reporting that a man had falsely used a bank card belonging to an elderly woman, withdrawing around £400 from her account.

Lancashire Police is warning people to be ‘extra vigilant’ after reports of rogue traders targeting elderly residents in Preston.
In the last few weeks there have been a number of reports of cold callers from a roofing company offering work.

Workers have allegedly carried out poor quality work after taking payments upfront.

On each occasion, the victims have handed over cash, with close to £8,000 stolen in total.

Police are seeking to trace a man after an e-bike was taken from outside a gym in Ashton-on-Ribble.
Preston Police have released a picture after the electric bike was taken from outside JD Gym in Port Way.

Police say the theft took place around 8.30pm on Tuesday 27 February.

A Preston man callously told his father he better phone an ambulance after breaking into his home and repeatedly punching him in the head.
Although the victim was able to call the police and tell them what happened, he was later revealed to have a bleed to the brain and died in October.

New Constables stationed at Preston, Leyland and Chorley celebrated the successful completion of a new training course, to recognise the contribution they make to keeping Lancashire’s communities safe.

A cannabis farm has been uncovered at a property in Preston today.
Preston Police said they were called just before 10am on Wednesday (10 April).

They attended a property on Fishergate Hill, near the city centre. The electricity in the property had been bypassed.

A man in his 20s was assaulted outside a bar in Preston city centre in an incident last month.
Police were called to the scene outside Baluga nightclub on 23 March at 2.06am where the victim, a man in his 20s, suffered an injury to his jaw.

Preston bus station
A mobile phone was stolen on one of Preston’s most well-used bus routes, police have said.
The phone was stolen at around 3.15pm on January 11.

Thousands of pounds has been raised in memory of a four-year-old boy who died while riding his bike in Ingol.
Named as ‘Jayden’ the boy died after being hit by a Citroen Relay minibus in New Rough Hey.
