I know that all railroads interchanged with all railroads in Chicago out of simply necessity - and still do. It's unavoidable. That's railroading. So nothing here is absolute.
But I also know from experience that railroad interchange frequently defies conventional wisdom. So did NYC historically utilize IHB for its inbound and outbound trains noticeably more the BRC for its Midwestern connections? And if so, who was PRR's historically preferred interchange partner for Midwestern roads?
(I'll just assume B&OCT was not preferred by either.)
