Rum sales surged by 7% in 2019 – a rise driven by cocktails and new spiced and flavoured rums, according to food and drink analysts CGA. ​ In the same period, brandy and whisky sales rose by about 3% and 1% respectively, and vodka sales actually fell by 0.4%. The latest figures continue a trend of increased demand for rum. According to the Wine and Spirit Trade Association, UK sales of spiced and flavoured rum have grown by 80% over the last 5 years.
