I shelled out $240 for RSW All Comms III. Plugget it in and got following codes that are shown below as screenshots. Question I have - where can I get description of RR error codes, as well as what causes them? Here is the list 1. BCU (Body Contol Unit) - the computer that is under passenger seat: Now, I am going to remove the BCU and send it for repair. This repair supposed to fix all these codes that also cause other problemes, like unable to unlock rear... Read more ..read more

I don't have my US version 2005 HSE RR owner's manual. The only thing I could find was RAVE zip and there, it is 2003 MY manual Publication Part No. LRL0649NAS - 2nd Edition © Land Rover 2003 In that manual Lubricants & Fluids on page 271 is following info: Main gearbox Filled for life. Esso LT71141. Power steering Texaco Cold Climate PAS fluid 14315 or service part number LRN2261 - ACE/PAS fluid. Brake reservoir Any brake fluid having a minimum boiling point of 500ºF (260°C)... Replacing/repairing BCU (Body Control Unit) on 2005 RR HSE

Recently 2005 RR HSE (140K miles, US version) developed a situation: after locking car with remote or with the key, when unlocking it (either remote or key) rear doors, fuel cap and/or tailgate remain locked. Based on my research across forums, people point out towards the problem with BCU (Body Control Unit) that is located under the passenger door. The strongest indication that it is BCU is that resetting BCU using central lock/unlock button on the console - pressing it 6-10 times to lock... Read more ..read more

"21" L405 SV Autobiography Dynamic. Noticed the front left shock was lit up orange versus the others. Car is on a level surface in my garage with the engine running, wheels straight, nothing unusual. It was in access mode at the time. I raised the car to normal mode and to off-road mode and subsequently lowered it again and nothing changed. In those two other modes the light (orange) did revert back to white so it appears to only be happening in access mode. No, the suspension has... Read more ..read more

I have a 2017 RR Sport. I recall receiving a letter from LR recommending that I take the vehicle to the dealer in 2018 or 2019 to upgrade the software. Two of the features the letter claimed would be added are: (1) future software updates could be downloaded by owner via wifi without additional dealership visits, and (2) addition of Apple Carplay. I was always in a rush each time I had the vehicle at the dealership, so never got around to asking for these updates. Is there any way... Read more ..read more

ODB2 for the timid mechanic

I have done minor mechanical work on low tech US manufacturer vehicles 20+ years ago, but have left most complex repairs or diagnostics to professional mechanics or dealers as the amount of technology has increased and I’ve started purchasing European vehicles (Audi A6 and 2017 Range Rover Sport). But I’d like to buy a ODB2 reader for simpler tasks such as reading/resetting error codes. From reading many posts in this forum I can see a clear bias towards GAP and Nanocom devices. But... Hi guys, I have an issue that is driving me nuts. 2021 L405 SV Autobiography Dynamic Holyoke edition here. Has anyone had any issues with what feels like a rear wheel out of balance? Here's what we know so far and what we've done: Starts around 73mph and remains until 85ish. It's a pretty short range and smooth otherwise. Stock wheels/tires. 14K miles on the truck. Never an accident. Never so mush as a curb rash. Had the wheels balanced a few times now in the hope of thinking it... Read more ..read more

I have a Range Rover Sport 2013 V8 with no supercharger and losing water (1 qt every 2 months) and I hear a slight metallic sound under the hood in the mornings; not a valve sound. I have not done any investigating but since I am on water Pump number two and the last time I had a T or Y pipe or whatever it's called replaced so.... I am thinking here we go again. Is it normal to go through a water pump every 50,000 on this model? Thanks in advance ..read more

Hello everyone, Let me describe the condition I have encountered yesterday and would be glad if you tell me what it was. After locking the vehicle (US version, HSE) with a remote, trying to unlock it. By pressing the unlock button twice to unlock read doors - it does not work, unlocking tailgate does not work either, can't open fuel cap door too. Pressing the unlock button on the console does not help either. Locking/unlocking car with the key - same situation - rear doors, tailgate and... Read more ..read more

Hi everyone. I have a 2018 L405 HSE V6 with 80k miles. Have am issue where the car has a vibration/resonance when the car is in drive and I am at a stop. The issue is very evident when stopped and in drive but goes away once I accelerate and get up to a few MPH. I've put in new plugs and did a full service including diff fluids. I don't see anything that might be causing the issue. I asked the dealer to check the engine mounts but they seem to only do oil changes these days. Anyone have this... Read more ..read more
