Changed traffic conditions on Bobbin Head Road, North Turramurra
Published 4 Mar 2024
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from next week on Bobbin Head Road, North Turramurra between Apple Tree Bay and Memorial Road.
These changes are necessary to carry out slope remediation work and maintenance of drainage systems along Bobbin Head Road. Work will also involve minor vegetation removal.
Night works will be carried out between Monday 18 March and Friday 01 November for up to 186 shifts, weather and worksite conditions permitting.
A full road closure along Bobbin Head Road, be ..read more

Hi to Raleigh afficionados and retro film buffs,
I recently recalled that i borrowed a movie reel from the Sydney Raleigh office ( Petersham/Summer Hill or nearby?) in 1981-1982 and my Industrial Arts/Tech Drawing teacher let me show it to our year 11 or 12 class. It was very loosely related as we studied basic bike frame physics, steel properties with changing carbon percent etc, but the main reason was perhaps that the teacher and i both liked bike racing I remember it was a documentary about Ti-Raleigh in a race, and while i dont remember the specifics, it got me inspired to ride and race ..read more

Have swapped between Fulgaz and Zwift.
I normally play on iPad, connected to a TV and don't have enough storage so have run Fulgaz live so to speak, which can create a little lag.
No such problem with Zwift.
Yeah, this is definitely a Fulgaz issue. I gave up riding the courses 'live' about a year or so ago and just decide what I'm going to ride and download it to my AppleTV first. It's probably generally not an actual issue with Fulgaz, moreso the reliability of your internet connection.
After filming a bunch of rides for them I have more appreciation of just how big the files end up gett ..read more

Yes, I also thought that story was strange, calling for tighter regulations and rego for something that is already illegal and which cannot be registered anyway. Say What?
I don't see a lot of E-UC's around here, but I will say that of the ones I have seen they do seem a bit over-represented in terms of riding in a way that could endanger other path users.
Yep. That's the crux of the problem, isn't it?

This whole situation is surreal.
A woman recently posted on a local FaceBook group, asking for help because she had bought her son an e-scooter and it was “too slow”. “How can we make it go faster like those his friends ride?”
When little bunty comes unstuck and ends up dead or in a wheel chair, being fed through a straw for the rest of his life, she will no doubt be asking for licensing and harsh laws to protect people…

I have BBB photochromatic bifocals, only bifocals I have but can read a bike computer where it seems natural looking down or a phone with a bit of a less natural peer down, +2.5 on the smallish bifocal area.
Where did you get them from and cost ?
Merlin cycles, called readers A$75.01 in 2020 dollars
BBB BSG-59PH Impress Reader Photochromic Glasses - Matt Black / Photochromic Lens / One Size / +2.5
Cheers found them and now A$90, but the +2.0 are OoS.
Locally can’t seem to find the Photocromic ones

Checked radar and only a few small showers showing so rode loop through Bobbin Head. Hadn't been thru there for a while but it was good to see roadworks and slope stabilisation happening. Sign said closed nightly from Sunday thru Thursday. Only saw 3 guys on mtbs. Got a good 90 minute ride in no rain. Wind picked up after I got home. So all good!

I don't know what further regulation will do because as the article states the e-UC's are already illegal to ride in public spaces and I see them all the time.
Yes, I also thought that story was strange, calling for tighter regulations and rego for something that is already illegal and which cannot be registered anyway. Say What?
And therein lies the problem - you have a bunch of f@#*wits, and I include drongos with suspended licences, suspended sentences etc, freaky adrenalin junkies (like the son mentioned in the article) and moron parents who buy their kids things without checking law ..read more

Superbagneres on Fulgaz today - average 231w.
I was running on just an espresso coffee this morning. No outside riding because the weather looks poor.
