After a four-year hiatus, we had the chance to make a comeback at one of Canada's most prestigious competitions, the Gold Cup - North American Championships in Montreal. This event brought together over 540 competitors from both Canada and the USA, spanning all ages and skill levels. Our team, consisting of 8 competitors, took part in both kata and semi-contact divisions. We performed admirably, showing improvement in various areas while also identifying areas for further growth. The Saturday classes at CKMA Mississauga Dojo for the next 3 months will be dedicated to competition preparation. A team will be formed to compete in March and May in Montreal in both kata and kumite for all ages and levels. Students are encouraged to participate, and non-competitors are expected to support and help the team in the dojo and at the Team Training sessions.
