Duetto History

The idea of the Duetto came about in 1962. The car was supposed to go into production along with the GT, and TI sedan. However, there was a gap in years, as to when it was finally introduced to the public in late 1965/early 1966. I am looking for history on the Duetto during that gap of 2+ years, as to why it was so late in delivery, for an article I am writing. Some of the conjectures are structural issues, labor problems, or developing a new assembly line alongside the 101 1300 spiders... Duetto History ..read more

LED bulbs

Totally fed up of the mass of 'bright' LED bulbs available, which tend to be not bright at all, bright in the wrong direction or simply burn out after a short time, I decided to make my own for my 164. Two different designs, tailored for reversing and brake lights. Each version includes a voltage regulator and high efficiency (270 lumen each) 3W surface mount LED, bonded to a heat sink with thermal glue. Totally commercially unviable as the time taken to make them would bring a cost to $50... LED bulbs ..read more

Rear brake issues with the 2022 Stelvio Veloce model???

Hello fellow Alfa owners. I own a 2022 Stelvio Veloce with under 33K kms. I bought it new from the Maple Ridge (suburb of Vancouver) dealership. Currently the vehicle is inoperable due to worn out rear brake pads. Replacement parts are currently unavailable across North America. I am dumbfounded how a highway driven Veloce, that was bought new from a dealership, can wear down the rear brakes so quickly. Is this normal wear for this model? Have others Stelvio owners experienced similar wear... Rear brake issues with the 2022 Stelvio Veloce model ..read more

Loss of Oil Pressure

I've only ever had this happen twice in the 7 months of owning my 74 GTV 2000 Spica, but I just wanted to see what people think might be the issue or whether it is even an issue at all. I usually start the car and let it idle in the garage for 5-10 minutes before driving it slowly around the block until it's up to temperature. I only drive it hard once it is completely warmed up. The oil pressure gauge seems to function pretty well, it drops when idle (but not too low), and increases on... Loss of Oil Pressure ..read more

I am considering bidding on this car and wondering your thoughts concerning the condition and anything in particular I should be aware of with this particular car or the model generally. Do you know of any capable shops in Vancouver that could do a PPI for me? I love Alfa Romeo and want one badly. Thanks. Scott ..read more

I am trying to sort our my new to me 1979 Sprint Veloce: My tail lights don't work and if I try to turn them on, I blow fuse 10. Obviously, the problem is in that circuit. I have looked over the wiring as best I can, but don't see anything. Does anyone have an idea of a known troublesome area in this circuit ..read more
