Just want to know if the timing gear intermediate shaft needs a circlip that goes into the grove on the back of the shaft? I don't know if there was one there or not when the engine was taken apart. I don't see anything about a circlip in the manual or in any forum discussions. Thanks ..read more

After traveling to the Gathering in my E type last weekend I noted that the brake pedal started sinking toward the floor very slowly when I applied the brakes. I had recently replaced the front rotors several weeks before and had experienced no problems. By the way, this is a 4.2 OTS. The master cylinder was replaced in November of 2023, also no issues prior to 4/21/24. Also, when the pedal sank, it would only sink so far, then I had good brakes and a solid pedal. I picked up a 65 S-Type project two weeks ago and have it in my shop. Car is a California car that is rust free and in great condition as an abandoned restoration project that has sat in storage for many years. Car is complete and has all the parts, new interior (seats, door panels, carpet, headliner). I picked up a project that I might end selling as I have a number of projects at the moment. The car is a 1965 Mark II S-Type. Car is rust free from California, was stripped for painting and repainted in Indigo Blue but has some chips and scratches from storage. I am having my body guy go over the paint and having him correct any issues.
