Today I went out after a snow fall from the other day. It's been pretty easy riding on the ice for the last month, but cover it with snow and look out. All the ruts created from the snowmobiles, snowshoes, and hikers are now hidden under the snow. It's impossible to pick up the ruts and at times they can just throw the bike in a total different direction, or grab your wheel right out from under you. Thank goodness I have cat like reflexes (lol) because it threw me 6 times, but I landed on my... Read more ..read more

We had our two grand buddies over for the weekend, so it was time to introduce them to the trails. Jack is six and Ava his sister is five, and we rolled out 2.54 miles with them. They had a blast and we even kept a watch for unicorns, but no unicorn sighting. We did find a unicorn figure that a unicorn left behind. (Ave loves unicorns). Now its time for some new bikes as they have out grown these bikes this year. To view this content we will need your consent to set third party cookies. I currently own a BMX, lol. I've had this bike for a while, although I'm looking to upgrade to a nice Mountain Bike. People don't really use BMX's because they are seen as unsafe and are more for the younger generation, however I believe that if the bike suits you, your sorted. Thoughts, anybody ..read more

Out and about exploring some new trails on the other side of the train tracks. The best part was it was the first time in 4 years that I saw another rider out on the trails. We stopped and talked for a bit and will hopefully get together and ride. What a great day exploring, who knew The Darkside would be so fun. Just didn't have my Mojo On when playing out in the woods today. I just couldn't find a good rhythm and was fighting the trails most of the ride. But can't complain because it was just good to get out and ride after 3 days of rain and the treadmill. To view this content we will need your consent to set third party cookies. My neighbor was going to throw this away... It is a 1988 Shogun Prairie Breaker Team Issue. I hadn't heard of the make but it seemed to be built well. It has Tange Prestige frame with Shimano Diore XT components all around. It needed some paint touch up/ rust removal and clean up. Now it rides great. The frame is darn lite even compared with todays bikes. I retailed for $900 back in 1988 and was the top of the line MTB back then, at least for Shogun. As you can see by the picture, it is... Well about 3 weeks go I did a call out of a friend to come join me for some fun riding in the woods. He responded pretty quick and we went out an did about an 1 1/2. So I get a called Wednesday night asking if he could come over and ride Friday afternoon. Works for me and we rolled out for 2 1/2 and I think he's going to pull the trigger on a bike soon. Always good introducing other to all the fun. To view this content we will need your consent to set third party cookies. For more detailed information, see our cookies page.
