Hi everyone,
If anyone has been a reference for a law school applicant, can anyone describe what that was like? I'm going to start my applications soon and have informed my references. However, I want to give my non-academic references some background on what to possibly expect. Do schools ask for letters or is it mostly a checklist they send the referee?
Thanks everyone ..read more

Hello, I am a third year undergraduate student and am striving to get into law school in 2023.
Before I get started, I would like to apologize and sincerely THANK YOU for taking your valuable time and effort in reading my extensive concern.
I am different from ordinary Canadian law applications for the many reasons as listed below, and I was wondering if any of them will be a hinderance or a draw back in admission, granted other portions of law school requirement are competitive. The concerns listed below are ordered in the order in which they were established and each leads to one anothe ..read more

Hello friends,
I'll try to keep it short and sweet but I am still on the waitlist for Ualberta and Ucalgary but I am not optimistic that there will be an offer for me this upcoming week. Truthfully, I didn't really expect to be waitlisted this long and anticipated I would have been accepted or rejected earlier and could start planning accordingly but here we are in the first week of September still up in the air!
I applied with a 3.5-3.6 ish L2 and 163 highest LSAT and I have a few years of full-time work experience in legal. I wrote the last LSAT so my application was not completed unt ..read more

OK so heres my situation:
Transferred faculties (my second year was 40 credits and the grades were not good)
Current cumulative gpa: 79%, but credits for first year after transferring (88%)
1st lsat score: 160
3 semesters remaining around 39 credits.
I plan to graduate in Dec 2023, and I know I could raise my gpa a lot more and can probably raise my score for the LSAT to 165+ (I was super nervous test day).
However, with my current stats - is it worth to try applying this cycle? are there schools that I have a chance at - or should i wait to be more competitive at ..read more

Hi everyone! I am hoping you could provide me with some insight/what my options are. I have listed my GPA information below based on the GPA calculator. I am looking to apply for this upcoming cycle, and I would really like to attend for Sept 2023. I do not have a school in mind, however something in Ontario would be ideal since that is my home province.
Cumulative GPA (CGPA): 3.84
Last two years (L2): 3.85
Last three years (L3): 3.84
Best two years (B2): 3.87
Best three years (B3): 3.84

Current in 4th year study, expected to graduate in April 2023 ..read more

At the beginning of my undergraduate degree, I did not plan on going to law school, i switched from an associates degree at one college to an undergraduate degree at a university once I decided to go.
In my first 2 years I was just barely surviving my classes because my sister moved in with her 4 kids so I took on alot of that burden of helping her, then she injured her back so I basically raised the kids in my second year. Because of that my overall GPA is pretty low (2.93) because my focus was on just passing early on. My more recent semesters my GPA sits at around 3.83 but my ea ..read more
