AFSC List

Has there been a preferred AFSC List for 24OTS03? I'm trying to line up my AFSC Preference (if it's posted) on the AFCEP request, however I can't find it anywhere... Additionally, on the AFCEP request, it states to input the AFOQT scores, but I plan on retaking it later this month. Does anyone know if we'll be able to update the scores we provide? MEPS prior to boards

Hey folks quick question. Is there a way to get around a officer recruiter that won’t send you to MEPS prior to applying to reserve/guard boards? I know you can’t get a FC1 medical till you get offered a slot but MEPS anyone can go to if sent by a recruiter. My recruiter said he won’t send me till I get a selected for a slot but from speaking with some current pilots, they do take into account if you’ve been to MEPS when selecting for UPT slots since it answers some uncertainties about you’re ability to clear through Wright-Patterson. Any suggestions for getting around this hurdle? submitted ..read more

Direct Commission Good evening y’all, I’m trying to back to school to get my Master’s degree but I’m trying to figure out which degrees are direct commission in the Air Force ? I’ve been enlisted in the Army Reserves for a few years now and have my BA as well. Is the OTS process less competitive if you want a special warfare job?

I’m considering applying for OTS when I start my junior year of college. I did 4 years enlisted and I’m interested in TACP or Combat Rescue Officer. I know the physical and mental challenges are very hard but I’m more worried about the commissioning process because I hear it’s very competitive. I don’t know if it’s harder to get a slot for jobs like ABM, Pilot, LRO, Finance, etc, because a lot of applicants want those, or if special warfare positions don’t have very many applicants so they move faster if they pass the required qualifications. submitted by /u/Silver-Geologist-224 [visit reddi ..read more

Shin Splint help! Please

I’ve been training for the pt test for the last two-three months and I am struggling majorly with shin splints. I’m able to make time for the run, but I’m having to stop 2-3 times and brisk walk before running again. I bought new running shoes in December, so I would assume they’re “broke in”. Has anyone had any experience with this? Did you try a new shoe, sole inserts, kt, etc? Thank you in advance! submitted by /u/Curious_drwatson [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hard work starting to pay off

I’ve been going after a pilot slot for a few years and it’s been tough. Want to preference I don’t have one yet, but I retook the afoqt for the third time last Thursday and received a 95 pilot score. I had gotten a 79 on the dot the last two attempts. The first two times I took it I was overloaded between senior year/studying for my pilots license and checkride. I took about a year off applying due to the stresses of grad school and moving and relationships. I started studying again about 2 months ago and found out about 2 hours ago that the hard work paid off. Still a very long road to get t ..read more

Pre-PT major

I’m about to graduate with a bachelors in pre-physical therapy and I’ve been wanting to join the air force as an OTC. My career requires a doctorate to start working so my worry is that I won’t be able to get into OTC due to that. I know it’s competitive so my question is how can I make myself more competitive or if I even have a chance to get into OTC without a DPT degree. submitted by /u/TopCryptographer4089 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
